3/7/2025 Progress Update: Amaty's Mistake, an Apology to Dyslexics

Hello Meerkats!

I just had to make this progress update because I made a very stupid mistake.

As you may have noticed, the game has font options in the settings! One of those was for Open Dyslexic. Now, I don't know if anyone mentioned this to me before, but it turns out Open Dyslexic was not Open Dyslexic.

It was Times New Roman.

I forgot to bring over the folder with the font files back in 0.01, thus the browser did not have OpenDyslexic. Therefore, it defaulted to a font we're all very familiar with, Times New Roman.

Yeah, I'm very embarrassed about this. Especially since so many people actually thanked me for the game's accessibility. Turns out I was making dyslexic people read a serif font, which apparently is one of the harder typefaces for dyslexic people.

I can't believe I didn't notice this until now. Let me know if there are any other reasonable accessibility options for more people to access this game!

No, translating the game into an entirely different language or programming a screen reader are not reasonable requests. Yes, I have gotten those requests before.

Anyway, my ramble is over. As for what you're waiting for, the update will probably be out in about 24 hours barring any major disruptions! All the writing is done, I just need to proofread a little more and make sure there aren't any bugs. I hope to see you all tomorrow!
