Kyrieru (Circle)
Those who have been part of the scene for a while must've heard the name Kyrieru.
Among all of the H ACT devs, I found his titles to have the most perfection applied to them.
Look, these are still adult games, and you can't really expect deep and engaging gameplay, but in terms of polish and attention to detail, they absolutely blow your average H game out of the water. Every single game is pixel drawn and developed by the same dev.
I decided to write this post about all 4 titles, since they're pretty short without much to expand on for the most part.
- Kurovadis was the first commercial release.
It's a metroidvania that plays in the style of Metroid, by obtaining different power-ups as you explore different biomes and fight all sorts of enemies.
All enemies have their own H animations, some have their own CG's as well, and all bosses have their unique CGs.
Biggest complain here is probably how low res everything is, but nonetheless, the game itself is very solid, and doesn't fall very far from other indies you can purchase nowadays.
- Eroico was the second commercial release, and probably a personal favorite by many.
It's an action game where you play as a knight on unknown quest.
During combat you can either swing you sword, shoot magical bullets, block with your shield, or upgrade your sword to fire ranged shockwaves like in Legend of Zelda.
I think what makes this experience both enjoyable and memorable is how well drawn everything is, and how fast paced the gameplay is. Heck, you can even pogo on enemies or use special blocks to perform cool air dashes and wave attacks.
Definitely the highest recommendation in this post.
- Aster basically plays like asteroids. For those unfamiliar with the concept - you play as a space ship that progress through each stage by destroying all the asteroids and enemies on screen.
All objects (including the player) wrap around the screen edges. The controls are definitely something to get used to, but they do remain faithful to how the genre plays out.
H content involves either getting grabbed by enemies that pop from the destroyed asteroids, or getting a game over screen when an enemy ship is on screen.
Ships animations are a lot more detailed than on-screen enemies, but overall the artwork is pretty solid as expected.
- Noaika is unfortunately a demo that was never finished, and probably never will be.
You play as a female soldier of sort, with the ability to shoot, kick, and punch your enemies in various ways, while exploring mysterious lab that not much is known about.
The foundation of the mechanics is already very solid, and honestly if it was finished it would've easily topped Eroico and potentially become one of the best H titles in the market.
There aren't that many H animations for this one, but those that do exist provide yet again a high pixel animation standard.

As final note, I do implore anyone that enjoys his works to support the guy. He got some illness (not sure if COVID) and even went through a surgery.
I'm positive that being out of commission, he can use any penny that'll come his way.
Being one of the most dedicated devs in the H scene, I can only say that it's a great loss to not have him work on new content.
