o1 preview builds a lil tower
Added 2025-01-21 00:28:04 +0000 UTCfunctional, but basic, plain, uncreative. I have a hunch that o1, o3, and other reasoning models are not very creative. I could be wrong, I hope I am, but they seem to be very minimal and simplistic. I imagine it is because they are trained to complete clear, objective tasks with one right answer, like solving math problems or logic puzzles. Creativity requires more divergent thinking and usually doesn't have just one answer.

2025-01-22 16:27:08 +0000 UTCI fear you may be right. They’re working with a lot of convergent thinking rather than going through some design process and brainstorming. Quickly getting to an answer is in their programming.
