Do you know how to fix CRT monitors?
Added 2023-09-15 22:03:03 +0000 UTCAny of you folks knowledgeable about CRT repair? I want to ask some questions for a chapter of the Kara manga Im writing! It involves Kara fixing an old CRT computer monitor and I want the information to be accurate.

Entry level stuff should include discharging the flyback; pretty metal tbh. You jam a metal tool into the CRT's anode cup so the thousands of volts goes into the metal frame rather than ur body. I have one that's just a screwdriver with a lamp cord wrapped around the shaft.

(ie broken VGA cable, buttons that need replacing, etc.) What tools are required? Could someone fix a CRT without special tools? What repairs could and couldn't be done without tools?
