Comments

Watch little stuff on little screens and big stuff on the biggest screen you can. Little screens are for when you don't care what you miss. Hoy, yoy, yoy is right. This could have been a mediocre TV movie of the week in the '70s. Sorry, Cassie, you're delightful - but I can't take any more of these.

Bert Towle

I only wanted Cassie to watch the first planet of the apes, which I loved.

Cassie, I enjoyed these sequels. Thank you for watching them. Great Nostalgia for me. I hope you enjoy the new ones.

Mark White

You should watch Battle for the Planet of the Apes. It gets a bad rap, mostly for 70s TV movie level production values, but it continues the story and explains some of the elements of the early films. Especially the extended version. And parts of it inspired storylines of the new movies.

Lee Wise

Oh, I fully agree on how bad Battle... is, I'm just a completist, is all!

John

Alas, this one is going on my "black" list. Nothing to do with you and your cute jammies, Cassie, I just find the series quite boring. As I watch all the reactions, I assign them different grades so I know which ones I enjoyed and which ones I didn't. Makes it easier to find a good one if I need a chillout. This is how it's panned out for me so far.... YELLOW (Absolute slam dunk favourites I could watch again and again) - 119 reactions GREEN (Still very good and enjoyable but not quite good enough for a yellow) - 92 AMBER (Still good, solid reactions that will always entertain, but not exactly favourites) - 157 RED (Can take or leave. Really don't need to watch again) - 131 BLACK (Have no desire whatsoever to watch again) - 77 Pretty good spread, I think. That's 368 reactions out of 576 that are, at the very least, good, and in most cases, better than good.

Clarence Newman

1000% agree Both Eastwood & Clyde movies are just great. Every Which Way But Loose (1978) & Any Which Way You Can (1980) Gold!!! "Right turn Clyde."

Padraig Glennon

Not my favorite of the series, it always freaked me out as a young lad. But this time watching it, not so bad. thank you PIB๐Ÿ‘

Padraig Glennon

She realises, John. But the general consensus is that Battle is so bad she needs to skip it, and that's what she's decided to do. Whether she watches the Mark Wahlberg/Tim Burton one before moving to the reboots is still uncertain.

Clarence Newman

I believe we need a break from Ape movies to allow us to breathe before diving in to the new ones. Therefore, I strongly suggest you watch Every Which Way But Loose first, which is a fun Clint Eastwood film totally devoid of apes. It does have a cute orang utan, though, and will therefore keep you connected to the general species. "Right turn, Clyde."

Clarence Newman

Cassie, you do realize there's one more movie in the original series, 1973's Battle for the Planet of the Apes?

John

Love the pyjamas Cassie!!! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™‚

It's not planet of the apes ๐Ÿฆ until the monkeys get guns and start putting on pants or 70s jumpsuits! If you see King Kong putting on pants in any sequels? The big lizard and the Japanese best LTFO!

Michael O'Connor

Thank you for watching this, Cassie. This movie is my favorite of the sequels. The final scene with Roddy McDowell(Caesar) and Hari Rhodes(MacDonald) is brilliantly intense. The acting and delivery by both actors is an unforgettable moment. It is an Oscar moment for the two of them. Looking forward to the new Apes movies. ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿฆ

While these weren't all great, I'm really pleased that you have an interest in the continuity of the films. The context of every work of art is a significant part of its meaning. That will be true of the remakes too.

James Melton

Early on, you said "1991, so we're in the past". But from the perspective of when the movie was made, 1991 was far in the future.

Chris

Awesome.

Cassie

I keep hoping for Cold Mountain

Thank you so very much!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฟ
