I think I am taking crazy pills. I can't get the Amazon Prime Movie to sync up with your Movie. If I keep both at 1x speed, the Amazon Movie is too fast. And if I put the Youtube video on 1.05x speed the youtube video is too fast. Anybody else got this problem?

Eike M

Yeah same. I was so freaking lost watching it at 15.

Chris Thom

Good question.

Almost all the full length reactions get a YouTube edit and post. Very rarely is something a Patreon exclusive.

Chris Thom

do these get posted on Youtube eventually as edited normal reactions or are these just for Patrons?

Ella Phillips

But is it a Christmas movie?

Grad

I'm going to look up that doc. I've always been curious about Gilliam.

"Condesmile" - I'm going to use that. Love this movie - great reaction. I saw it in the theater back in the day. Terry Gilliam is one of my favorite directors. So interesting and so bizarre. The making of this movie is wonderful - there's a documentary called "The Hamster Factor" that is a great snapshot of Gilliam's mind and the process of making movies.

I saw this film way too young for me to understand the story. I watched it for Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt. But I'll always remember the opening musical score by composer Astor Piazzolla. So chilling and so memorable. It was my ringtone for a good long while. 😁

I love this movie, and I know how you feel. The first time I watched it, I felt like I had just finished putting together a puzzle, and a piece was missing.

So Alice.. how was your trip to Wonderland? Yes this movie is trippy and it holds up. Tell me Cassie.. what did you find out thru Reddit after watching? Probably another rabbit hole. If you were confused by this movie you should check out Terry Gilliam's other movies from the 80s which arent as confusing like Time Bandits or Adventures of Baron Munchausen.. those ones are trippy but are more linear I guess you could say. No chickens no eggs.. Thank for letting me get all nostalgic again with this one. Oh and I like the fact that Brad Pitt kinda predicted another movie with his whole speech on consumerism .. like he did in Fight Club... weird.

"Time Bandits" is one of my all-time favorites, and is on my top ten list of movies for PiB. Grew up with it and still love it. Sometimes I wonder if growing up with a movie as a kid creates an aura that is not wholly deserved for a movie.

Definitely up for the original Batman movie. It's a lot of fun, and it would also give Cassie an idea of why the darker, more serious aspect of the '89 reboot appealed to fans at the time.

Forgot to mention it in an earlier comment of mine. Frank Gorshin played the older doctor from the institution, "Dr. Fletcher". Him being involved means I get to suggest we visit the 1966 Adam West "Batman", if that journey is going to continue. It will add some perspective, and conveniently has a movie, rather than need to watch the series. Gorshin plays "The Riddler" in both the movie and TV series, and his portrayal would be an influence in Jim Carrey's version in "Batman Forever" with Val Kilmer's "Batman/Bruce Wayne".

Never try to make sense of time travel, it doesn't make sense. But time travel movies are so fun, and in this case, perfectly weird. Terry Gilliam is one of my all time favorite directors because he knows how to make weird work, he was the only non British member of the Monty Python troop. The animator and co-director of Holy Grail. So many great fantasy and sci Fi films: Time Bandits, Brazil, Adventures...Baron Munchausen. Gilliam also directed Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, I wonder what Cassie would think of that???

Last of the Joehicans

The Fisher King (1991) maybe… or perhaps The Legend of Hallowdega (2010), a short film on the legend of Talladega Superspeedway. Terry Gilliam and NASCAR. That’s a combo I never expected. https://youtu.be/E_74YlctZ8Q?si=rz9HzzD2uFXzGbsQ

Larry Darrell

I've seen most of Terry Gilliam's movies, but not all of them. I wonder if he ever made one that wasn't crazy. What's his least crazy movie?

Brian's Dog

Cassandra! Towering Inferno next please! Larry mentioned it below and now I've mentioned it again, which in most circles would constitute a tidal wave of public opinion. Fair warning - if a third person comes on here and requests it, you are legally obliged to park your butt.
