My favorite version of the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSLT8UHneWU&list=RDLSLT8UHneWU&start_radio=1

Matt Stafford

It's on her radar now.

MikeLL

We gotta get Philadelphia Story on the channel. <3

Kiss the Librarian

Cassie, I love this reaction from you. I hope that you show this movie to your kids and Carly. :) Admit it Cassie, you would be using the same sneaky tactics that Susan does to keep David near her. "Because I just went GAY, all of a sudden!" Great line.

Mark Vaderr

Hi Cassie, Glad you enjoyed this Classic comedy film. I think it is fair to say, you cannot go wrong with any Cary Grant film. He was a marvellous talent & everybody should get to enjoy his work. Which we are lucky enough to have available, personally, I feel the same about many nearly 100 Yrs old films. Why miss out on good Actors/Actresses & the amazing work they did, just because it was in the past.

Long-time Sci-Fi Enthusiast

Great idea Clarence, give it a try I say. Also, some reactors like The Media Knights and Cinepals, are posting longer edits that are passing copyright and staying up. Maybe Ben could reach out to these reactors to brainstorm the problem. The Cliffhanger and Jaws 2 edits were unwatchable too me, I hope a solution can be found.

"let’s hope she has interest to watch more long series" Let's not.

Mike Lemon

After the GoT series reaction is complete, let’s hope she has interest to watch more long series in addition to the awesome GoT. In a True Detective episode reaction intro, she alluded to The Wire as being recognized as a great series, but that was just as an aside. Unless I missed it, she has never really discussed long series she would like to watch, except for GoT and that was only recently she divulged that. Surely, there are at least 1 or 2 more, maybe a few. GoT may or may not get a ton of YT views but should bring in Patreon subscribers. Plus, with GoT, she will become comfortable (and get in the groove) with reacting to a long series in 1 of the 3 reaction slots each week. But still early -- whether GoT will be the only long series or the start of a continuing long series journey. I would look forward to her interpretation in long series - weekly discussion on evolving character development/arcs, storylines, etc. Don't get that with 2-hr movie. Cassie: “I’ve done obviously not as many shows [series] as I have done movies but some of my favorites have been the shows because I just feel like you get to know characters and look forward to characters. Seeing them in weekly episodes.” Would love reactions to Sopranos, Breaking Bad, The Wire, The Expanse, Mad Men, Dexter, The Vikings, Peaky Blinders, Battlestar Galactica, Deadwood, Homeland, Boardwalk Empire, Andor, The Americans, The Knick, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Endeavor, The Crown (S1-S2?), Victoria, Poldark, Downton Abbey, Freaks and Geeks, True Blood, Humans, Orphan Black, Black Bird, etc., etc., etc.

I have a suggestion re the increasingly-oppressive Youtube copyright laws. I'm not sure what to do about the goose-stepping copyright Nazis themselves - Cassie, Ben and Matt the Editor will know far more about them than me - but I do have an idea to prevent YT edits from being pure hack-jobs. We all know, from months and months of experience, that Cassie doesn't need a better editor than Matt. The guy's a genius. But with the extra restrictions he's working under, we're starting to get YT edits that literally feel like (in the immortal words of John Travolta in "Perfect") "someone's been editing with their f-ing elbows". Not aimed at you, Matt, you are not the problem, but Cliffhanger in particular was a disappointment. Important dialogue snipped too soon, whole scenes missing, etc etc etc. I'm not saying it wasn't watchable, but my enjoyment was certainly compromised. So!....here's my idea. Matt starts out with the whole film and edits it down as he sees fit, right? At which point, he probably has the perfect YT cut. He then tries to post and the SS kicks it back. He cuts a bit more out and reposts but it gets kicked back again. So on and so on, until finally, we have a severely-truncated edit that the copyright Nazis are happy with. Again, I'm not sure how to get around that for YT, but is it possible, please and thank you, for Matt to do his initial edit, post THAT on Patreon, and THEN work on making the Gestapo happy? The truncated YT edit will eventually pass copyright and we'll all go drop our view and like on it anyway, but here on Patreon, we'll have access to the edit as Matt intended it to be. It doesn't sound like any extra work to me, so can I get a maybe?

Clarence Newman

Yeah, kinda. Lois is never quite that manic though.

Richard Maurer

So, am I the only one getting some Lois Lane / Clark Kent vibes?

Happy Hanukkah

I was curious. According to her Letterbox (needs updating), Cassie has watched this many films by decade. 558 of these films have been channel reactions. 2020s - 68, 2010s - 401, 2000s - 374 1990s - 232, 1980s - 113, 1970s - 28 1960s - 20, 1950s - 20, 1940s - 10, 1930s - 5

Joe J

Movies (among others) to consider for inclusion in a 2010s poll: -Black Swan (2010) -The Fighter (2010) -Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010) -The Runaways (2010) -The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) -Drive (2011) -Take Shelter (2011) -My Week with Marilyn (2011) -The Place Beyond the Pines (2012) -The Railway Man (2014) -Paterson (2016) -Lion (2016) -Sing Street (2016) -Mudbound (2017) -The Florida Project (2017) -Wonder Woman (2017) -First Man (2018) -The Peanut Butter Falcon (2019) You've already watched a lot of good 2010s movies.

Clay F

"Bringing Up Baby" is Classic Hollywood at its best. It's one of the best of the Screwball Comedies that featured great writing and dialogue at a breathtaking pace usually involving romantic entanglements. It was directed by Howard Hawks and the film solidified Kathryn Hepburn as a star. You'll Love seeing more Screwball Comedy Films!

David Harvey

I don’t watch other reactors, but from what I hear some others reactors do seam to get away with less problems than Cassie. Is she being unfairly treated? Is it because PiB is very successful compared to some other reactors? I don’t know. But, it does seam abit over the top with such a old movie.

Mark White

I've heard of this movie, but have never seen it before. The main characters are delightfully eccentric. I started watching the YT edit, but need to see the entire movie.

Stephen Dias

This apparently was taken down on YouTube. Why take down a 87 yr old movie? This takedown thing is a scam.

Richard Maurer

I would also include: The Bee Keeper (2024), Bullet Train (2022), and Extraction (2020).

Joe J

Example list to select 12-14 candidates from for 2020s poll: Sinners (2025) Black Bag (2025) Predator: Killer of Killers (2025) Warfare (2025) Superman (2025) F1 the Movie (2025) The Brutalist (2024) Conclave (2024) Anora (2024) Past Lives (2023) Killers of the Flower Moon (2023) All Quiet on the Western Front (2022) Elvis (2022) She Said (2022) The Woman King (2022) CODA (2021) Belfast (2021) Drive My Car (2021) The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020) Judas and the Black Messiah (2020) Sound of Metal (2020) Nomadland (2020) Promising Young Woman (2020)

Clay F

It's almost as if there's a reason they're classics! :-)

Happy Hanukkah

3 of those are NOT on my list. I don't want to exaggerate, but this would be the greatest poll ever.

Clarence Newman

If you mean the full movie watch-a-long, she posted that here on July 22. You have to provide your own copy of the movie for all watch-a-longs.

Joe J

Perhaps I missed something. Will a Patreon version of this be released?

Bradley Weston

Cassie, can we get a 1960's poll? Here's a few memorable films, some are bona-fide classics. And as a bonus, most are in color (haha). Village of the Damned (1960) The Time Machine (1960) The Hustler (1961) Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) A Hard Day’s Night (1964) A Shot in the Dark (1964) Doctor Zhivago (1965) The Graduate (1967) The Dirty Dozen (1967) Cool Hand Luke (1967) Bonnie & Clyde (1967) Bullitt (1968) 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)

Joe J

"Lions and Tigers, oh my". Will she ever watch Predator 2.....sigh.😢

Joe J

Weird fun fact, but he was one of the first Americans to try LSD. His psychoanalyst gave it to him.

Chris Thom

Try the Philadelphia Story!

Ellen Tschida

Ah, but Hitch loved Grant the most. “Cary is the only actor I have ever loved”.

Catherine LW

It was said that at his height, every script in Hollywood was sent to him except sci-fi and westerns, lol.

Catherine LW

+1 for The Philadelphia Story. Added bonus is has Jimmy Stewart. Charismatic trio.

Clay F

Apparently not. I asked the other day and the answer was "Bringing Up baby", yes, "Ghost & Mrs Muir", no.

Clarence Newman

Fun song. Uber catchy.

Chris Thom

Bringing Up Baby inspired Madonna's Who's That Girl in 1987 which has only got 4.8 on IMDB but I unironically love https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094321/

Milton William Burray

Did his daughter get nominated?

Chris Thom

What a charming onscreen pair. Hadn't seen this before, but now I want to watch the Philadelphia Story. I've always associated Hepburn with On Golden Pond so it's a trip to see her so young and vibrant.

Chris Thom

Great choice, Cassie!

bgb1975 (Brian)

I hate to hear that that poor leopard was declawed. Declawing a cat is like removing their fingers. I think it might have been defanged too, considering the way it was mouthing the dog (George).

Richard Maurer

Will we be getting a YouTube edit for The Ghost and Mrs. Muir? If not I’ll probably watch the full reaction.

Richard Maurer

Cassie - since you asked if baby was a cheetah or a leopard, the easiest way to tell the difference between the spot patterns on a cheetah, leopard, and jaguar - cheetah’s have black spots, leopards have rosettes (a roughly rose-shaped circular pattern) with no markings in the center, a jaguar has rosettes with a spot, or spots, in the center. They can be told apart by body shape too. Cheetah’s are very lean with very long legs, leopards and jaguars are harder to tell to apart, but jaguars are bigger built, and much stronger than, leopards, with a bigger, more powerful skull, that gives them them most powerful bite force of any cat, even the much larger tigers and lions.

Richard Maurer

Actually, I believe it is "His Girl Friday" (1940) that you are thinking of, which is a remake of "The Front Page" (1931). And yes, "His Girl Friday" (1940) is top tier cinema.

thebeefmaster

I love that you've finally watched this one. It's one of my absolute favourites.

Mark Deadman

I enjoy your reaction alot. Suggestion for a C. Grant movie would be The Front page. You will love the quick banter between the two leads.

Ronnie

Cassie every classic movie you have watched you/we have enjoyed, so pls keep them coming!

Collar City Guy

Grant was a versatile actor who could play a variety of parts from action to comedy. "Gunga Din" (1939). Based upon the poem by Rudyard Kipling is one of his more action-oriented parts. A bit racist by modern standards with a white actor playing Gunga Din it is still a good film if you can look past that part. Some of "Indiana Jones " was inspired by "Gunga Din"

TheSingulatarian

Cassie, Katharine Hepburn was in “The African Queen”, not “Queen of Africa.” Shame on you! Her co-star, who won an Academy Award for his performance, was the legendary Humphrey Bogart. Bogie (as he was affectionately called) was best known for his gangster and private eye roles, particularly “The Maltese Falcon” and “The Big Sleep” (my personal favorite). And, of course, you saw him in “Casablanca” as Rick. As for Cary Grant, he was the second best actor to ever work with Alfred Hitchcock, behind only Jimmy Stewart. Other must-see Hitchcock films starring Grant are “Suspicion”, “Notorious” (co-starring Ingrid Bergman, Rick’s love interest in “Casablanca”) and “To Catch A Thief” (opposite the luminous Grace Kelly). And, of course, he also teamed with Katharine Hepburn again (as well as Jimmy Stewart) in “The Philadelphia Story”, an absolute must-see.

Just Plain Bob

That was the best movie I’ve seen in a while!! Loved watching you have such a great time with it too. Can’t believe I have missed this all these years. ☺️❤️

Carol Rocha

Yes, which is exactly why we need a Cassie rewatch/Carly first-time watch of What's Up, Doc? (1972)! My monthly Pick-a-Flick has now changed from Bringing Up Baby to What's Up, Doc? 😁

Phil Stubblefield

I hope that someday you will watch On Golden Pond with Katherine Hepburn and Henry Fonda... at the end of their careers.. Henry Fonda got the academy award for best actor, and she won best actress.

Jeff Rogers

Cary Grant was never comfortable on set with the wild cat. From day one he kept his distance: "I make an effort to get along with all of my co-stars, the director, everyone on the set, but I did not wish to establish a relationship with baby." Katharine Hepburn apparently enjoyed tormenting Grant: "Cary had always refused to work with the leopard. Didn't care for it at all. Once, to torture him, we dropped a stuffed leopard through the vent at the top of his dressing room. Wow! He was out of there like lightning." The leopard (an Indian leopard) was an eight-year-old female named Nissa, and was apparently declawed. The trainer Olga Celeste stood off-screen with a whip for all of Nissa’s scenes. Olga was an early Hollywood animal trainer. Olga was born in Sweden in the late 1880s and began working with animals at the age of 11. By 1938, she had taken her talent all the way to Burbank, California where she held court as the only female leopard trainer in the world. Part of the Vaudeville circuit, she was also an actress and stunt double but her true passion was leopards.

Clay F

Tony Curtis' imitation of Cary Grant in "Some Like It Hot" was based on Grant's character in this movie, including the round glasses. Also, the Barbra Streisand movie "What's Up, Doc" was a remake based on "Bringing Up Baby."

Michael Lewis

Now that you've added Cary Grant to your leading man list, you really need to watch "Charade" 1963 with Audrey Hepburn. I think you will love it.

Michael West

I love how Grant is playing straight man for Hepburn during parts of this wonderful comedy.

MikeLL

Fun film to discover on the channel, Katherine Hepburns machine gun like dialogue couldn't have been easy to edit around 😀
