Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) - Full Reaction

3 movies in 1 kind of in this ultimate cut?! This worked for me actually! I liked Ben Afflek as Batman and Jesse E as Luthor! I have some questions about motives for all of them but still very entertaining!

PS: I was able to find the ultimate edition on HBO, so that's where I watched it! Justwatch didn't have a link directly to the ultimate edition, so the link below is the direct HBO link.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) - Full Reaction

Comments

Yes, please watch Wonder Woman next.

Barry

Welcome to the journey to one of the best superheroes movies at all times - Justice League Snyder Cut.

tasty_coffee85

Excellent reaction, finally was able to re-watch this again, she has to watch 'Wonder Woman'. I hope they watch the Snider cut for 'Justice League'

Yeah, I’ve never understood the whole “take the fight out of the city thing”. What do they expect, Superman to stop and ask Zod “ could we please leave the city? we’re causing a lot of damage here.”, then Zod just politely agrees? I mean Superman’s fighting someone of near equal strength, how would he get him out of the city without making himself completely vulnerable and probably losing a fight that results in the end of humanity?

Richard Maurer

Superman didn't have a choice but to fight Zod in the city. Zod had declared that he would kill every human on Earth unless Kal killed him to stop him. So-called Superman fans who are upset about Superman doing whatever he had to do to save millions of lives (billions?) don't have a clue what they are talking about.

Story Archer

Because of radiation or something?

Chris Thom

Fun fact: in the silver age comics, superman is the reason lex went bald.

Yaisu

please be sure to watch wonder woman before you watch Zack Snyder's Justice League

Ventena

I've never been that into extended editions. But with Snyder movies they do so much to flesh out the story in a big way. Glad the studio allowed both to be released.

Chris Thom

Love all those movies lol.

Finally got around to watching this yesterday, fantastic reaction as always, I really liked it when Cassie said wow it’s really dark 😂😂. Glad you also said when Batman went to save Superman’s mother and he said “I’m a friend of your sons” you said well he was fighting him like 5 minutes ago. I thought exactly the same when I saw it originally. I also hated the reason they stop was because their mothers had the same name 🤦🏻‍♂️. It it feels like one of those stupid moments, like how Han Solo got his last name, just felt a bit dumb. But it’s been a while since I’ve watched this and I honestly really enjoyed it, I agree you definitely need to see Wonder Woman (you don’t need to see the sequel)also I know I said this in a previous post but it’s a really shame Affleck didn’t get his own solo film as I’d forgotten just how bad a$$ he looks in the suit. But regarding the others I’d also recommend Aquaman, Shazam & Birds of Prey The Harley Quinn movie as all 3 are a lot of fun. I also really enjoyed The Flash, but most of that could have been me fanboying out see a person back in the suit.

Given their reaction to this, it looks like we might get a DCU binge in the future! I hope that's true and if it is, I think they'd really enjoy Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021). The story and character development is far beyond Whedon's Justice League. (2017) IMHO

I really don't think Cassie needs to watch any of the other Snyderverse films, especially since they're critically panned for the most part, and the entire franchise is currently being rebooted by someone who knows how to have fun. It's like Snyder saw The Dark Knight Trilogy and learned all the wrong lessons from it. Superman is not supposed to be grimdark cynical, and Superman himself is... awful and often evil in these films. It's why the new Superman is doing so well- because it's a Superman that is kind, and loving and hard-working toward the good of society- like he should be. Superman should give people hope when they watch it.

It's not my favorite; it was a little long. No, that's not the problem; I don't mind long movies. It just felt like it was all over the place, and seeing Batman go through walls that would have killed him many times over. I was never crazy about movies like Freddy vs. Jason, Alien vs. Predator, and Godzilla vs. Kong. Why can't we all just get along? 🤷

fastecp1

Yeah it feels backward. Was almost one hundred percent sure Cassie had already seen it, but it was actually Carly that mentioned it years ago.

Chris Thom

What a twist! Carly has seen a movie that Cassie hasn't! LOL. Can't wait for their reaction to Wonder Woman.

Knight Squirrel

Starts with a funeral, ends with a funeral. The Ultimate Cut is about 30-40 minutes longer. The Theatrical Cut trimmed the side stories a lot and it wasn't as clear that Lex Luthor was the one pulling the strings behind everything. Carly's instincts are really spot on - she followed the story well. Even the part where he keeps Martha (Kent) from getting burned; which is the only part I think was slightly askew (blocking wise). The Russian Bad guy is KGBeast in the comics so theoretically he could come back after getting burned. Definitely watch the Zach Snyder Cut of Justice League. It's 4 hours but is so much better than the Theatrical Version. Also a lot of the side stuff here (Parademons etc.) are explained in Justice League (and it's planned sequels - which unfortunately we will never get). Man of Steel, Batman Vs. Superman (Ultimate Cut) and Zach Snyder's Justice League are an awesome trilogy! Thanks for watching, always enjoy ya'll's reactions.
