Added 2025-09-02 08:23:15 +0000 UTCI loved it and hated it. I was so sucked in the whole time, couldn’t wait to see what happened and the investigation but wow some terrible scenes to see 💔 Since there’s no next movie i guess i have to read the books. I need to see the rest of their stories!

2025-09-21 10:17:31 +0000 UTCI'm probably in the minority but I ♥ both versions. I think that Rooney is a more rounded version of Lisbeth. Plus is closer physically to book version. The swedish movie trilogy actually covers all 3 books. So they're worth checking out for that reason alone. Plus enough differences in the 2 film versions so it won't just be a rehash. Both are great films. There's multiple intertwined storylines (Mikael/Lisbeth/Harriet mystery).

Noomi Rapace is awesome. 2011 version "Brutal yet captivating, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is the result of David Fincher working at his lurid best with total role commitment from star Rooney Mara." 2009 version "Its graphic violence ... will prove too much for some viewers to take, but Noomi Rapace's gripping performance makes The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo an unforgettable viewing experience."

2025-09-07 20:17:31 +0000 UTCI can really recommend watching the original Swedish TV series / movies (they're two-part movies) if you'd like to see the rest of the story . They're (in my opinion) more raw, not as polished maybe, but I think they feel more authentic that way.
