OK, so different error message. The Patreon App doesn't support third party streaming, so you're right, you would see the 'private video' error message, but it sounds like this is something different. I've never had anyone reporting that they couldn't access the videos from a browser. To troubleshoot, the first thing I would try is a different browser. If you're using Firefox for example, try Chrome and see if it gets the same error message.
