I-LAND EPISODE 2!!!

EPISODE 2!!! this show is already traumatizing me...

I-LAND EPISODE 2!!!

Comments

actually lots of the guys knew eachother before but had to pretend they didnt. and the show wanted it to be like a first meeting for all thats why they kept the teams apart and they were not allowed to talk to eachother. jungwon jay and sunghoon i believ talked about thios on an early live where they mentioned that both were already friends with jungwon before but where not allowed to interact until the show.

Don't call me.

omg i really want to comment on the niki thing ahhhhhh

Don't call me.

I agree too, I was actually going to comment that I thought this since the airing of this episode. I couldn’t stand how some of the ilander acted and youngbin was the one that made me the most uncomfortable, he literally played victim and acted as if no one had the right to give critics to him and made heesung feeling like the bad guy when he literally did nothing wrong. Also, individual evaluation is normal and I most say a must when preparing a group performance, I also go through that with my dance team, through this we don’t make you less, we point at what you can do to be better

no literally the whole time i was so sick watching him

_viviana _

I'm not surprised they though that, we're observing him through a show and seeing his sassy moments and faces, so it will create a specific character in our mind, but they're seeing it differently

n n

Resisting the urge to google them to see who made it is so hard. The show is so good altho horrific the stress!

Cosmic Swirly

It's more like attempted mder (if she passed out) than assault because assault is define as "any word action intended to make another person fearful of immediate physical harm - a reasonably believable threat." The moment you laid your hands on someone it is battery.

Anna Xiong

Nicely said.

Anna Xiong

100%. I remember that segment rubbed me the wrong way when I watched it years ago but gave him the benefit of doubt that maybe it was evil editing but when I found out about his assault I was oddly not surprised it was him.

AlliePandaa

I definitely agree, and even before the assault I've always thought it was crazy that he can't take evaluation and constructive criticism from his own team, how would he expect to handle the judgement of literally the entire internet throughout his career? Being an idol is a tough job in that aspect. They weren't even talking him down or anything, they literally just said it would be nice if he had more confidence in himself?

Clare B

Don’t feel bad for Youngbin. He was charged for assaulting his GF and choking her out until she passed out. He was kicked out of his group and will never be an idol again. Watching back on I land made me see how immaturely selfish he was and blaming everyone else but himself on his own confidence.

AlliePandaa

You should predict the final line-up of your choice each ep.

Faxe11

And, they are still friends to this day, there was no misunderstanding there. Taki has no hard feelings towards Niki for his vote. And both ended up exactly where they were meant to.

Zesti

We love you Cam! Thanks for posting, can’t wait for the next ep

I’ll say this. Many have a problem with how this is structured, but they say from episode 1 it’s about creating a team that is talented and A TEAM (those do not always work out together). Them having to vote helps form a group that truly get along and are create a family. AND IT WORKED. Bang PD did not invite anyone on this show that wasn’t going to be talented enough, so this first process is actually really important for chemistry. And then having to figure out the practice themselves is a lot of pressure/growth, but so is being an idol. Not everyone can handle the idol life. No spoilers for who is where, but I will say PD knows what he’s doing in picking contestants. Almost all of these 23 guys are in the industry somewhere. Congrats on just becoming a Stan to 5 new groups I can name immediately 😂. We’ll let you know about them later when the time is right 😁.

That could be it too, but I was mostly looking at it in an objective mindset. For me personality is a plus. Sunoo wasn't lacking, he just didn't stood out for be. Eventually he slowly caught my attention.

Anna Xiong

Very true because yes friends should stick together but at the same time, we are here to make a good debut team. A lot of people had hated Ni-ki when he voted Taki out because they were friends but I personally think it was a good choice because Taki definitely did lacked a lot and it was reasonable even if people want to think that friends should stick together.

Anna Xiong

idk, for me his personality stood out from the beginning. but maybe that’s just because i love him 😹🩷

Snow

I totally agree.

Anna Xiong

Watching this the 4th time through with you, and it is really fast-tracking the stress roller coaster that is debut in that industry.

Chia Sano

No, this is everyone first time actually meeting each other beside for the one that had trained together (Heeseung, Jay and Sunghoon). Some heard rumors of Heeseung, but that's about it. They all actually never met each other so it's reasonable to make assumptions in the beginning if someone didn't stand out as much. Honestly, Sunoo is adorable, no doubt but he didn't stood out for me in the beginning until later where we could see most of his potential.

Anna Xiong

As someone who watched a lot of survival shows, I personally think I-Land is the the most stressful and traumatic show for such youngsters. Daniel, Taki, and Ni-ki were sooooo young, 13-14 years old. Majority of them were all so young and having to learn to endure stressful hardship, which is understandable if you want to become an idol. Like you said, it's like the hunger game. To answer your question, this was during the beginning of Covid. 2020. I had cried so much for them and felt the pain they were going through to make it to the debut line. As for Youngbin, yes it's could be humiliating to be "evaluated" solo, but it's the only way to see the individual because dancing in a group could shield where you lack at, so I disagree on what he said on the way Heeseung is teaching (but at the same time, Heeseung shouldn't do what he want, with what they are already given because it's about building a team). And Jay, he is bias after seeing him constantly raising his hands. I love ambitious in idols like that, with a great mindset of never giving up. Seon, is a different story, you will see that later. Overall, even if the system is harsh and brutal, if you want to make it in the kpop industry, you will have to learn how to take in hard criticism and critiques from the people you are training with and coaches to be able to improve where you lack at.

Anna Xiong

the fact that they voted out Sunoo in the beginning for not having enough character!? have they MET Sunoo!? absolute blasphemy.

Snow

niki and taki were 14 i believe (born in 2005) and daniel was the maknae, born in 2006 so i really can't imagine going through all this stress and pressure at SUCH a young age.... and with the whole heeseung situation, while i felt bad for youngbin, i completely disagreed with him. you can't complain about being forced to dance solo if you want to improve and actually debut. constructive criticism is part of the process of improvement

connie cheng

this show really is traumatizing. i watched it after i already stanned enhypen and knew all of the members and it still stressed me out. your hunger games comment last episode was very accurate lol. it was annoying for me at first because only a few people (like ni-ki) were voting people out based on real reasons and talent wise but eventually as you saw it just becomes a who do i want to stay here the most with me vote
