It was definitely not the same, Hanbin choose this position from the beginning (didn't change midway). The mission before was a TEAM mission btw and this is the finale where you only vote for one individual. He as Nr 1 had every chance to pick whatever position he wanted so why wouldn't he pick the one where he could shine the most? Its a survival show for a reason..

They said its a competition and not a show to make friends. He was selfish this time and picked the part he wanted, I mean he was never main vocal before, and it made everyone mad on Twitter. They just can't make anyone happy it seems

2024-03-08 22:11:14 +0000 UTCwith regards to the hanbin/jay drama, just something to bear in mind going into the finale: at this point in time, song part allocation essentially had little to no effect on the rankings and who did or didn’t get into the group. as it was down to one-pick voting, almost everyone already had their favourite trainee they were going to vote for no matter what, so you were just as likely to make it into the group with 5 seconds of lines as you were with 30 seconds.

I get its a competition and he did what he had to do, but Matthew did the exact same thing in Say My Name and Hanbin fans were dogpiling on Matthew. Only for this to happen but somehow its fine cause "its a competition" was highly hypocritical to me. Hanbin said he wanted to show how much he has improved but he was Main Vocal in Say My Name, which was the performance right before finale. Unless he was hiding his true skills the whole time, not sure how much he could have improved in that short period of time.

2024-03-07 11:54:53 +0000 UTCat first you could choose 9/6 trainees to vote for so people would vote for most of the trainees they liked however here it shrank to 3 and later to even 1 so people would only vote for people they really wanted in the debut group and no filler votes that's why the ranking changed so much and so many good trainees dropped off they just didn't have that many fans (it's still sad tho)

I guess ✨Boys Planet trauma bond✨ create miracles 😂 They feel like friends who knew each other for a at least 6-7 years . And I often forget how new ZB1 is . With how constantly they smothere each other in affection and how comfortable boys are with each other. Watching them I'm fully convinced they group who already had their fifth anniversary, but then someone would say :"I didn't know it's your favorite fruit..or omg.. you have allergy on this thing.." And then I realize "Wow they still freshly baked bun's " 🥐

But BUILD UP is somehow an even better survival show. The performances are top TIER and there are so many familiar faces from boys planet and i-land. A lot members from groups that you already know and like so I definitely recommend you to watch It.

2024-03-07 00:13:58 +0000 UTCI can promise to you that every crumb of information you will learn about Sung Hanbin will make you love him more . Boy doesn't have evil bone in his body. So I was thinking about his choice with Jay a lot. But then I remembered Sunoo situation on I-LAND. Like every fan voting he would place first, but at the final people were thinking he would be first anyway so they started to vote for other contestants. And Sunoo come in seventh or eighth place. Same things happened with Xiaoting in Girls Planet. But she dropped even lower despite being one of the most popular girls there . Survival shows are brutal. There's wasn't a day on Boys Planet when Jay got what he deserves, but Hanbin was just surviving on surval show. I'm convinced that no matter who stood there , Hanbin would move them . It's kinda weird to see sweet ass people here be unhappy with him . Because our only enemy is Mnet and weirdo's who were bodyshaming and hating Jay online at that time. Always ready to eat those ones alive 🤤 . If only Jay got a little bit more airtime. I wish you and Star Creators at the time would knew what an amazing personality Jay got . I know a little bit about him through other famous ex- trainee from his company. Jay is very funny, precious boy .

2024-03-06 21:50:34 +0000 UTCI was really disappointed and sad for jay because he got pushed away but I don’t get how everyone was so upset with hanbin because he wanted to make sure he gets into the group for sure. After Matthew dropping to ninth he saw what could happen and for example xiaoting was first place for the most part in Girls Planet and then just barely made it into the group because a lot of people thought she was safe and stopped voting for her. The one pick thing in the final can change up the ranking a lot so I get that he wanted to take every opportunity to stand out in the final. My top 9 at this point were: Zhanghao, Shanbin, Taerea, Matthew, Keita, Seungeun, Jiwoong, Gunwook

2024-03-06 21:01:17 +0000 UTCmy top 9 at the time changed every second, but my secured top three were 1. gunwook 2. hao 3. ricky so you can imagine my panic during the elimination. i distinctly remember gunwook placing 12th and just going, “oh. that’s not good.” it was like i could never have all three in the top 9 at once and it was driving me insane lol. gyuvin hanbin matthew and keita were secured in my top 9, but the rest of the spots fluctuated every other second. haruto, woongki, seowon, and ollie’s eliminations in particular broke my heart. they were all really beloved by everyone watching the show, but didn’t have established fan bases behind them like everyone else who made it. you mentioned how loved seungeon was when he ranked 14th and i feel like it’s important to remember that he walked in with 7 other people (hao, ricky, gyuvin, yujin, ollie, and brian) from his same company (yuehua). at this point, 6 of them were still in the competition and they were all super close and sincerely wanted to make it to the end together. when one cried, they all cried. during performances they react the most when the other yuehuas do well. the same goes for the trainees from wakeone, i think they sent 10-12 trainees, but there must’ve been around 5 of them left at this point. the top 9 felt far too small before the finale. i remember thinking, “oh well i want gunwook to debut. i want him to debut with junhyeon. i want hao and ricky to debut together, but also gyuvin and yujin. hanbin and matthew definitely have to debut together. taerae and junhyeon should debut together too.” it was just SO messy. and to top that all off, gunwook was literally 12th so i was doomscrolling for the entire week before the show ended lmao.

Only knowledge that he debuted later makes it better. Also I don't know how social media works . But I seen BP fans asking Haruto how he feels about dropping out with crying emojis and he sent funny pictures of himself with text over it saying something like " It's not that serious. Let it go " . And my angel Woongki. O my , it hurt 😭 .How old is he ? 21 years old ?. And people already telling him that his time is up and he should give up?! I know he our fun Woongki boy , but it kinda feels like his abilities as performer wasn't taken seriously. Let him cook!! Let him debut as an idol ,you silly korean entertainment companies!!😠😡! Maybe in the future we could check out BL he starred in "Love for the love's sake" ? Because I already miss him . I know he is not main character in drama , but it's okay because he main character in real life 😜 😔

And I realized no one shared with you his backstory. Which is crucial to understanding what a special person he is. He had a life before Boys Planet and it was eventful . He debuted three times before. Can't believe nobody yapped to you about it yet . Jiwoong was born on December 14, 1998. It was always a dream of his to be a singer. Unfortunately, his parents were opposed to this. Despite a lack of support, he continually auditioned, gaining their trust. Finally, Jiwoong became a trainee at NA Entertainment. He trained for nearly seven years‼️ before debuting as the Lead Vocalist, Lead Dancer, and Rapper under the stage name Jinam in the boy group INX. The group debuted on August 2, 2016, with their single “Alright.” INX announced their disbandment on November 30, 2017, though. In 2018, the members filed a lawsuit against their company, claiming severe mistreatment, including lack of support, poor working conditions, and starvation. Thankfully, the Seoul District Court favored INX in the final verdict. So, INX won, and their contracts became void. Jiwoong debuted again under the stage name King instead of Jinam in DS&A Entertainment‘s 10-member pre-debut group ATEEN. ATEEN debuted in Japan on September 1, 2018, with the single “僕はちょっと違う.” Yet, they disbanded the next year before ever making their South Korea debut. So as you said, its so weird how Mnet made him look like only "sexy guy " I'm sorry its so long .But I almost died trying to write coherent , informative message, while having a fever. Just wanted to share my emotions. It's so funny like we all think that BP is pretty harsh on contestants, but for Jiwoong it was probably place with one of the best working conditions he ever experienced alongside with his acting career of course. Also apparently he has two brothers and they all look exactly like their very handsome dad. Jiwoong older brother works as staff in smallish, entertainment company . He accidentally got filmed by some variety show and his colleague encouraged him to brag about his younger brother passing Boys Planet audition .

2024-03-06 19:03:05 +0000 UTCIt's really hard to rewatch this episode cause supercharger and the 96 team had my whole heart at the time and, even though I didn't expect much, it was like watching a train wreck in slow motion. Park hanbin and zhang hao were my alternating one picks after this elimination (in reality I voted for zhang hao 3 times and park hanbin for the rest). I will be laughing at sung hanbin having the greed they talk about in the bible for the rest of the day, so thanks. The first time I watched the show because of the elimination right before it, I think I went into and came out of the finale a little bitter, so this plus the time that's passed is giving me a chance to see things with rose-tinted glasses. I'm so excited for you to see how things go.

It's my third time watching BP and I still think that was uneccesery for him to take his spot. Even the judges were shocked. I still love Hanbin, he did what he wanted couse it's competition but subvocal 6 still hurts 😭

It was really devastating for me seeing how everyone loved him in the beginning, wanted him and hanbin to debut together since they were friends, everything was going great and then all of the sudden all this people decided to hate on him. Like the hate was so out of control at some point. I'm sorry but I will forever be salty about everything that happened during those weeks 😭😆😆😆💙 Boys planet truly was traumatic for some of us I'm sure 😆🤧

Not to mention their chemistry/friendship has blown me away. They are technically rivals (top 2 ranking, K and G centres) and yet instead of competing they are constantly holding hands and helping each other. A few trainees that did not debut had high profiles to warrant their participation and interest onto other survival shows as well. There was a large pool of trainees and a lot of interest - you just have to look at the incredible voting numbers from so many countries!

This episode had Hanbin get so much unnecessary hate from Jay's fans, just because he wanted to show his fans how much his singing improved, which was his goal for the show in the first place.

Survival shows will always have toxic fans because they are made up of a bunch of soloists who don’t support the group the moment they don’t like someone. Versus once you have the final group the people who actually want to see them succeed stick to the group. Filters out more of the solo stans

2024-03-06 05:54:28 +0000 UTCWhen I was watching this live I remember feeling so fuking angry when Matthew was called as a candidate for 9th place Like I remember so vividly how angry I was at Mnet and their freaking editing And also knowing that he was aware of all the hate he was receiving because of it (his sister mentioned it during that time) ughhh gotta hate Mnet for that Matthew was my main pick since day one so maaann the stress was REAL Also seeing Haruto get eliminated was so unexpected and heartbreaking😭 Our favorite girly pop duo Woongki and Seowon also getting eliminated here was devastating for me!! But hey, all the 18 guys in the final lineup where so deserving of debuting. I only had three people in my mind that I really wanted to make it and then the rest could've been whoever cause everyone was so so good. Can't wait for you to watch the final ep and find out who made it😭😭💙💙

I remember there were arguments on twitter over it with diehard stans defending him of course but I just found it hypocritical that some of his same fans were calling matthew greedy & selfish for not wanting to switch parts last episode lol Honestly while I was happy with the final line-up for the most part, I never actually joined the fandom or follow the group much, if the stans are toxic I stay FAR away.

It's the "unofficial" sequel and their first reality show, that was released before their debut where we got to see them bond as a group for the first time :)))

2024-03-06 04:53:53 +0000 UTCme hearing what u said about haruto all ep with how supercharger went i was like oh god.. i love how much jiwoong grew on you i love that u catch the little things about him. this timeframe sucked bc i had to jump ship from other trainees w precarious positions to vote for matthew it was just guilt n worry all around. the indecision for gunwook matthew or hanbin as jelly pop center was so bad at the time for me i loved the change in image for gunwook since we all know hes a lil gummy bear in reality that being said my top 9 concretely at this point was matthew, keita, jiwoong, gunwook, jongwoo, p. hanbin, zhang hao, s. hanbin, and taerae! just bc either we didnt see enough of the others in certain ways or i was worried abt them being so young lol

I was so sad when no one from the supercharger team made it to the finale, especially Haruto and Woongki. The way Somi and Gyuvin looked at each other at some point had me laughing so hard. Personnaly I don't remember entirely who my top9 was back then. But definitely Gunwook top 1, Jongwoo top 2 and Taerae top3. I was eagerly supporting Hanbin, Hao, Keita, Matthew, Jay and Jiwoong too.

2024-03-06 02:17:44 +0000 UTCi watched the show live so i obviously already know who is in the group/stan them... but my top 9 going into the finale was matthew, keita, ricky, sung hanbin, zhang hao, ricky, park hanbin, jiwoong, and taerae. it was so hard for me to choose a top 9 bc i loved all the boys sm. keita and matthew were my #1's throughout the whole show since ep 1. they had me. every vote who i voted for fluctuated except for them, and for one pick at the end i made my friend make an account so i could still vote for both keita and matthew lol. also all of supercharger team getting eliminated here was CRIMINAL 😭
