A.C.E. is extremely talented and I’ve been stanning for a while and they are criminally underrated. They have some of the best vocals in 4th gen and not many ppl even know them. Hun deserves everything and more he’s so talented and deserving.

It has some of my favorite vocal performances and there is one song which was my number one hit in my music app in march. Maybe I watch even the last episode with you, because I havent yet. Tbh I almost never watch the last episode, because I get spoilered before and all the pomp makes it boring for me. Otherwise, build up might have splendid performances, but I think overal it is a rather weak survival show. Everything is so... terse. Like when contestants are cut, they just disapear. There is no time for good byes. There are of course the clips before every song showing the group interacting. But thats it. The show has no time for friendships. Which, I think can be a good thing, cause contestants dont get put on the spot and milked for all their tragedy, but it also makes it harder to care for some of them. I wont spoiler you anything, just saying its also the reason why, when a certain group gets elimated later, it made me lose lots of interest in the rest of the show, because I felt like they were the only ones who build not only a group, but a friendship.

This concept for a show is really refreshing and I'm super happy to discover (and re-discover) so much talent. I saw CIX live once, not knowing them well, and Seunghun especially left such an impression on me that I spent the rest of the night listening to CIX' songs.

THANK YOU, Cam, for watching this with us; Build Up wasn't even on my radar and now I'm SO looking forward to watching more of it with you! Edited, now that I've finished watching: Wow. Literally everyone in this show is so talented. So far I'm rooting for Jay and Wumuti, of course, and I'm fully in love with Hayoon. The whole Don't Go team was incredible and gave me almost the same level of awe as the Love Poem performance in Kingdom by Eunkwang, Seungmin, and Jongho. And Eunkwang is a judge here; so happy to see him again too!!! And I just have to say, Solar is so beautiful. I'm in awe! This is so good! Thank you, Cam!

2024-04-08 06:23:17 +0000 UTCThe show has such amazing contestants - seriously, literally everyone is good, most of them are really good, some of them are amazing. Of these performances, the first group started strong but that last one was just stunning. I'm with you - it was so beautiful and they supported each other so well. Donghun tearing up because he's done a ton of competitions and never come in first, my heart broke a little for him. But I was so happy for him to be recognized, too. My favorites... I mean Jay is at the top for so many reasons. I also love Wumuti, Hayoon, and Bain. I really enjoy unusual voices 😂 There are others I really, really like but I actually don't know all the names because the version I watched had horrible subtitles that spelled the names kinda randomly and often like they were Chinese. 🤣 I can handle Hangeul and Romanized Korean but if you make it Romanized Chinese I'm lost. There are so many really good performances for you to look forward to! Unlike a lot of shows, literally everyone is really good, so the judging comes down to details and often focuses on their choices as performers. I also think they give them a reasonable amount of time to prepare each song... Not leaning into the time pressure as hard as a lot of shows do. It sets them up to be judged at their best and it means we get to watch a lot of very successful stages. I don't think that's a spoiler 😁 I know how much you always want everyone to do well, so I think you'll enjoy this show.

Do you want to know the name of the final group so you know what to skip over if you happen to see it pop onto your socials? It is very interesting rewatching ep 1 knowing the rest of the show. I haven’t been able to rewatch it until now because, as you stated, it’s so hard to find 😭. I’m so upset with MNet for this. Give Viki the rights so they can sub it well and people can see it!! The show moves from one mission to the next very quickly but each mission does end up being stretched out between several episodes. To me, it was much chiller of a show compared to Boys Planet. There's quite a blend of guys here between idols, singer/songwriters, musical actors, trainees, etc. It's just a battle of vocals so be prepared to be blown away. Also, A.C.E Donghun, he wasn't in a group before A.C.E basically 3 members of A.C.E went to compete on MixNine (the other 2 went to compete on The Unit) shortly after their debut. Donghun made it in to the Top 9 project group of that show. But YG Entertainment (who co-produced the show) ultimately ended up canceling the debut so it never happened.
