If you look closely you can see the shield is made up of tormented faces, it was also shown as people in the first fight. Funny tho that they reside in the pant, tho I guess it explains why his pants always stayed on. Evil eye is just a kid who wants to play, so it was a plan so stupid it worked. And now you have a bunch of angry ass souls that want to kill all humans trapped in a pair of pants.... worst part: it wasn't even humans that killed them, so wtf they mad at humans! They really need to get over their death. XD this freaking anime! And Literally nothing wrong! with being invested in one of the most wholesome romances in anime! XD Its literally just normal human empathy to find their romance sweet!
