Longer Hiatus + Patreon Restructuring

Hello again! I've now had some time to think and I believe I've made up my mind on how to restructure things around here:

The page will go on a longer hiatus for the time being. Let me first explain the new setup, and then the reasoning behind it.

The New Setup

First of all, the page itself will not be unlaunched, but instead I will keep billing paused indefinitely going forward. This means for all of you that access to past posts remains entirely untouched and you will not be charged going forward.

I will unpublish the Emerald (5$) and Sapphire-tiers (7$). This means that no new people will be able to sign up to those tiers.

I will keep the Ruby (3$) tier accessible for new people who want to drop a one-time donation to check out my back-catalogue including all the alts I've produced in 4K.

The Reasoning

The approach so far for me is simply unsustainable. Ever since I started I've suffered from the problem that my workflow in 3d takes considerably more time compared to the vast majority of artists around me.

With the way this campaign and my social media channels were set up, I'd put in a lot of effort for what ultimately amounts to one post, and once published, that's it. All the work that went into a published animation doesn't contribute to anything greater that people revisit over time.

Add on top of that the fact that there's a lot of repetitive, but unfortunately difficult to automate work involved with 3d, and every further piece became more and more of a slog to work on.

The Path Forward

Before the alias naxylos was even a thing my original goal was to create adult furry games. This whole art-and-animation-thing basically became a very long detour.

I've been working more and more on a prototype using the forest environment that I shared as a WIP with 5$+ supporters previously, and it's actually coming along quite nicely. There's also a work-in-progress feral fox design that will eventually land in the game. I've attached some media so you can take a peek at the progress yourself.

That is what I'd like to work towards. But I'm also not here to run a campaign for a product that currently doesn't exist. My current plan is to keep working on this prototype, posting updates of its progress both here but also publicly, and once it's ready, I'll launch it on itch.io and with it relaunch this very Patreon page.

I've learned a lot from running this campaign over the last year, and I'd like to again thank everyone for their support! Oh yeah, and the Discord server will stick around as well.
