oh yeahhhh I remember thinking that he actually killed the teacher until I saw that metaphorical scene. If I'm not mistaken he's also the teacher that was an ass to Nagisa when he was in danger of downgrading to the E class. Honestly though, Karma is actually nice? Since he was trying to defend someone bullying someone else, his response was just terrible. LOL

For me it was clear after this episode that Karma didn't kill his former teacher but only let him die in his mind. As you said he likely wouldn't be on the school anymore otherwise.

Koro Sensei had sworn to not kill/hurt any of the students and he cannot continues to teach if he breaks that vow. And that means he cannot help that promise he made to a friend
