Im back + Behind the Scenes + New Anim Soon!

Hey guys!

In advance, I'm sorry for my absense for the past several weeks, anxiety has been through the roof (Nothing new, unfortunately, for the two statements.)

Short list for those who HATE reading.

Anyways, I was planning to come back with an animation ready but as always I got some rocks on my path. I still didn't want to stay quiet for longer or you guys would think I died or some shit (I have received some messages like that lol)
So I though I would give you guys some insight into whats going on behind the scenes, because even though I've been a bit quiet recently, I still am working on stuff and learning new things!

(SPOILERS ON NEXT ANIMATION BELOW)

New Hair Animation Tech

Since I started animating I've always used bones to animate it by hand (lately with addons), but it never looks really convincing. Also, it cant be applied to particle hair, which is something I wanted to do for a long time, So, I wanted to learn how to do it and came up with a pretty good technique which I might showcase in the future. Here are some inital tests (Will be improved):

Lattices and Fluid Sim.

Another area which I didn't really like my work is fluid simulations, I've always felt it wasn't as good as I wanted it to be, even though I improved it a lot with the Hanzo x Cassidy anim, I still wanted to improve it and did lots of tests to make it look more like cum and less like a waterfall. The gif below is made with just some basic shapes, its not a model. Also the pulsating you see is just a test, its made with a lattice, a thing I've never used before. Lattices are also used for the hair tech I was talking about.

Grease Pencil

2D animation is amazing! I still prefer 3D, but I'm sure a little knowledge of 2D or how to simulate a 2D look would help a lot on future projects. So, I learned how to use Grease Pencil to do quick 2D effects.

Animation Technique: Blocking

Another area that is vital for me is animation, obviously. I'm self taught, which means the way I animate isn't really an industry standard. I didn't even know what the standard were. Learning about it, I discovered my animation technique is called "pose to pose", and while doing some research, I learned another way of doing it which got me really interested, called blocking. I've tried using it for the next animation (more on it soon). I can't say I love it, I will still keep animating my way probably, but it does definetely help when you don't know how to animate something or is unsure about tempo (in my case tempo got worse instead of better, but I understand it better now).

New DBD animation!

So yeah, I've been animating, a lot of things to be honest, but since its been a while since I posted my last animation, I thought I would focus on something until I finished it. Theres this DBD animation I was working on as a bonus animation, which applies almost all my current studies on it at the same time. So this is the one Im focusing on. Here are some previews of it!

BUGS! BUGS! BUGS!

So, why isn't there a new animation this month? It should be ready, yes. But as always, blender has to find a way to fuck me over.

For some reason, after I've rendered this animation for days, during the denoise process it screwed things and created a weird type of motion blur on meyers mask. I figured it out, but I'm having to render all of it again, on cycles, which means it takes a long time. Im currently at 80% of it so should bedone soon, and of course will be posted for you guys as soon as possible! EXAMPLE OF BUG (At the eye sockets of the mask):

More! More! More!

Like I said, I'm working on stuff, lots of stuff. Maybe you can get some reference by this hehe...

I hope I haven't pissed you guys over with my ausence, I promise you a lot of stuff is in the works and will be worth it!

Hope you guys have a great weekend!

Hugs, Saigon ♥

Love the dick slaps on face. Fuck!!!

Anthony

Thank you for taking the time to give us this detailed update! That liquid simulation is especially impressive, I know that's something a lot of animators struggle with. Seems like such a hard detail to get right, but what you're doing is really paying off! And that Gabe cock-slapping preview gif 👏 can't wait to see what you do with him. I hope you get a break from the anxiety soon, sorry you've been having a rough time with that. But it's good to hear from you Saigon, cheers!

Welcome back and loving the new dbd animation!
