Hello my Dear Ones!
I spent the last few days working on a new art where our sweet and sexy Piotr Rasputin - the Might Colossus - appears relaxing all naked...
This time, I made my time-lapse video focused on my lineart and coloring illustration process.
I didn't include my sketching work in the video, because just on the Lineart and Colors side, there were more than 18 hours of footage, compiled into a little over 4 minutes, and because I didn't want to make the video too long, I focused on what's the most exotic thing about illustrating this character: his chrome metal appearance.
The work to do so is really big.
I know out there that are many people who, when they come across illustrations that artists make of a character like Colossus, take it for granted, without even reflecting the gigantic effort it is...
So imagine the following: You draw his body completely, like any other character, HOWEVER, right after, you need to segment (in many lines) his entire body, and after that illustrate every dark part of the reflections in all visible parts of his body, and all these always respecting the volume and shapes of muscles and limbs (so you need to work very well on your three-dimensional sense to do this)
And all this is ONLY in the lineart part, as coloring is another specific and laborious unique work.
Still, no matter how much work it takes, after completion it gives me a happy pride feeling of having accomplished something like this.
(but allow me to give you a tip to always value the artists who faced these art challenges, they really deserve it!)
Having said all that, here is a (very accelerated) peek in part of such a work.
So hold on, get ready and I hope you enjoy this video my Dear Ones! β¨

P.S: Oh yes, and apart from the content that appears in this video, I went back to this illustration a few times to refine some parts and also add some extra details too π€...
