🌸 Belleteyn, or “The Blooming” 🌸

So, I decided to continue expanding the lore of elven holidays. This time I tried to fantasize about Bellitain🌸

Since it's also Ciri's birthday, I decided to draw her and Avallac'h. It's not for nothing that it's a holiday of love after all! haha

📅 Date of celebration: On the threshold between spring and summer, in the night from April 30th to May 1st.
🌿 Dedicated to: The spirits of fertility.
🗓️ Marks the beginning of: The fifth month of the elven calendar — Blathae, the month of blossoms and love.

✨ The Magic of Belleteyn
Belleteyn is one of the eight magical dates of the year. For eight days after it, the world’s magical aura grows sharply stronger.
During this time, many elves perform rites, initiations, and ceremonies of union — for the veil between worlds grows thin, and the power of spells becomes purer, brighter.

🌿 Decorations and Traditions
🏡 Homes are adorned with branches of hawthorn, birch, oak, and rowan.
💐 Elf maidens and children weave garlands from wildflowers and fresh herbs — primroses, pansies, and violets are especially favored.
🕺💃 By day, elves dance around sacred trees — symbols of life and the unity of feminine and masculine forces.

🌊 Sacred Waters
It is believed that on this day, lakes and rivers are sanctified — and creatures like mermaids, nixies, and other watery fae do not attack. It is safe to bathe, and elves gladly take advantage of it.
🌀 If a garland floats far downstream, the wish will come true. If it sinks — it will not.

🔥 Purification and Bonds
At sunset, elves light twin bonfires, forming magical gates.
Through them pass lovers, friends, and those seeking cleansing or a union of souls.
❤️‍🔥 The flame does not burn — it reads the heart. One whose soul is impure will not pass through.

🌸 The Spring King and Queen 🌸
During the celebration, the Aen Rí Earraigh (Spring King) and Aen Ríon Earraigh (Spring Queen) are chosen.
They are crowned with lavish garlands woven from the rarest and brightest flowers.

🌿 Their role is more than ceremonial: they lead the feast, guide the dances, and bless couples in union.

🌕 At the height of the night, the chosen ones withdraw to share a sacred union.
It is said that the goddesses and spirits of fertility are especially favorable to the Spring King and Queen.
✨ They are believed to have a particularly strong chance of conceiving a child.

✨ All children conceived on the night of Belleteyn are considered blessed:
They are often born with unique magical gifts and heightened sensitivity to the fabric of the world.

🏇 Midnight Races and Music
To honor the festival, riders race along fog-covered trails under the stars, while on every glade, flutes, harps, and drums fill the air.
🏆 The winners of the race are honored throughout the year as the most swift and skilled of riders.

✨ Магия Беллетэйна
Беллетэйн — одна из восьми магических дат года.
В течение последующих восьми дней аура мира насыщается силой: завеса между мирами становится тоньше, а заклинания обретают необычайную чистоту.
Эльфы совершают в это время ритуалы, обряды инициации и единения.

🌿 Украшения и традиции
🏡 Дома украшают ветками боярышника, берёзы, дуба и рябины.
💐 Девушки и дети плетут венки из полевых цветов и свежих трав — особенно любят примулы, анютины глазки и фиалки.
🕺💃 Уже днём начинаются пляски вокруг деревьев — символов жизни и союза женского и мужского начал.

🌊 Священные воды
Считается, что в эту ночь водоёмы становятся священными. Русалки, водяные и прочая нечисть не тронут путников — купание в реках и озёрах безопасно, чем эльфы охотно пользуются.
🌀 Если венок унесло далеко по течению — желание сбудется. Если утонул — увы, нет.

🔥 Очищение и союзы
С закатом зажигаются двойные костры, образующие ворота.
Через них проходят влюблённые, друзья и те, кто ищет очищения или единения душ.
❤️‍🔥 Пламя не обжигает — оно читает сердца. Душа, не прошедшая через него, остаётся вне ритуала.

🌸 Король и Королева Весны 🌸
Во время праздника выбирают Aen Rí Earraigh (Короля Весны) и Aen Ríon Earraigh (Королеву Весны).
Их венчают пышными венками, сплетёнными из самых редких и ярких цветов.

🌿 Их роль — не просто почёт: они возглавляют пир, ведут хороводы и благословляют пары на союз.

🌕 В разгар ночи избранные уединяются, чтобы разделить священное единение.
Говорят, богини и духи плодородия особенно благосклонны к Королю и Королеве Весны.
✨ Считается, что у них особенно велик шанс зачать ребёнка.

✨ Все дети, зачатые в ночь Беллетэйна, считаются благословенными:
Они чаще других обладают особыми магическими способностями и повышенной чувствительностью к ткани мира.

🏇 Ночные скачки и музыка
В честь праздника устраиваются гонки по туманным тропам, а на каждой поляне звучат флейты, арфы и барабаны.
🏆 Победители чествуются весь год — как самые ловкие и доблестные наездники.
