He assaulted and impregnated her at 11, went on to do so to multiple other young girls, a daughter from this was exiled, and then the empress assaulted him as an adult. The anime is a bit vague about it, but the manga is far more clear that she forced him to give her another child. Which traumatized him. Just everyone involved did some truly, truly horrific things. Also, you are missing one step from Jinshi’s identity in season 1. In season 1 we had the arc about the potential baby swap with consort Ah Duo, who left the palace that season. In there it was heavily implied that Jinshi is the son of Ah Duo, who had been swapped with the Imperial Brother. The Imperial Brother (who would be the one born through the rape of the previous Emperor) died from the honey poisoning. Everyone believes Jinshi is the emperor’s brother and treats him as such, but season 1 heavily suggests a swap happened and he is Ah Duo’s son. That wouldn’t make him the brother of the current Emperor or even the Empress Dowager’s son. His identity is something else.
