She has scarred the prince’s face, a man CONSTANTLY renowned for his beauty. It guarantees her death sentence and that she is remembered forever as a villain. She’ll go down in history as the woman that ruined his perfect image. Both her and her father did everything they could to guarantee history views them as the villains of the story. Neither of them actually wanted the country to fall and had been quietly working to destroy their own clan, but they knew there was no surviving this. It doesn’t matter whether they did everything to save the country and purge corrupt officials, they still committed horrible treasonous acts. So the last thing they could do is go out as proper villains. Both attack Jinshi, both don’t actually resist their death, and both put on grand performances to make their deaths as memorable as possible. So that no one sympathizes with them.
