In regards to the man that shot up his family. It's pretty well documented now how many neurological reasons could cause such an abrupt killing spree by someone well known for being a non-violent and loving person. The infamous "Texas Tower Shooter" is a big example of this shit. He known by everyone for how loving and great a man he was; he sniped 16 people from a tower after murdering his wife and own mother. Before killing himself he wrote a suicide note explaining that he just could not understand why any of this happened, that he is so upset and felt like he was compelled by something, that recently weird compulsions had been changing him from his average guy self. Autopsy found a tumour pressing against the amygdala, which regulates aggression and fear. It was never certain whether it was only that in his case, but overactivation of the amygdala can drive spontaneous fear and aggression. Huntington's disease has been known to make otherwise normal people hypersexual and impulsive in the months leading up to a formal diagnosis.
