I love getting to better understand the thought process of Doubles as a new VGC player myself. I also love running off-meta teams, which requires understanding the meta very well and this helps with that.

It also has some pokemon I really like and his playstyle showed that he knew how to put pressure on his opponent's more "common" (and in that sense more predictable) team
