Poll - Potential New Fictions!

This would be a story I'll be updating along with Unbound in a couple months, first here on Patreon and then on RR once I've a certain amount backlogged. I've been working on several ideas but haven't fully committed to any of them yet.

A - The Ring of Truth
A cursed Ring, used by a lawman to compel criminals to tell the Truth, regains its sentience. Not only that, it regains the knowledge that it was once a man, cursed into the Ring by some bastard Wizard. Empowered and enraged by this knowledge, the Ring takes over the criminal that wears him and flees into the city.
Yet the Ring is just that, a Ring without a true body. And the body he has claimed is weak and sickly, though nimble enough. If he is to gain vengeance, there are many steps ahead of him. He must gain power, by hook or by crook, because there is nothing else. He will find the Wizard.
It's just a matter of time.

B - Crown of Cataclysm
Cultivated magic. Ancient secrets. A Curse he must survive.
A pariah for nothing more than the circumstance of his birth, Harker has nevertheless struggled to follow in his late mother's footsteps as a healer. Relying on herbal remedies and his Knack to delve beneath his patients' skin to assess their injuries, he has found some limited success. His Talent is a Minor one, nothing like the great Blooded Princes or Tyrants of the south, those that can move mountains and summon lightning from the heavens. It is not even enough to keep him safe from the whims of the tiny tyrants in his village.
But when an unnatural storm comes to town, along with a bevy of strange travelers, Harker's world is turned upside down. He finds himself cursed, his minor Knack enhanced beyond its scope but slowly killing him. If he doesn't get a handle on it, he'll be burnt up from the inside out. That is, if the strangers in town don't kill him first.

2021-10-28 09:36:40 +0000 UTCBefore last year I would have said the revenge one but there’s been so many stories about revenge lately that I tend to steer clear of them. I would say the 2nd then because I also like “power outside of my control” and weak to strong stories.

2021-10-26 13:47:47 +0000 UTCCrown of Cataclysm is more of a classic adventure story. So that might be where you'd land. Ring of Truth is more of a heist/slow burn revenge tale.
