Hey, hey, hey!! The first map we released exactly one year ago tomorrow was the Wet Foot Tavern, because taverns are the perfect place to start an adventure.
Today we bring the Modular Building! And it's exactly that, a Modular Map to build your own buildings. For us it reflects what a year of adventuring may look like, when the party can settle and build their own home, Adventurers Guild or whatever comes to their mind. And it's also an innovative Modular Map, something that we strive on doing and that has become a signature map for us.
We may have gone a little bit over the top with this one, but our Patreon's main objective isn't to give you fish so you can eat one single day, but rather give you the best fishing rod we can so you can fish as many fish as you want (sorry, we are a bit romatic and poetical these days).
It is a set of 51 rooms that you can assemble the way you want to build whatever you want! Yes, you read that right, fifty... one...!
Oh, and we also included 2 tileable backgrounds, Grass and Dirt!
As always, this is only the first part of this Modular Map theme, join our Discord if you haven't already and let us know what rooms your campaign needs next.
This Modular Map is a little different, we recommend you experiment with it.
1. Have a concept. A shop? A house? An adventurer's guild? A manor? An inn? A tavern? A shack? A prison? A garrison? Everything is possible.
2. Connect the rooms next to each other so the doors overlap.
3. That's it! Have fun!
Pro tip: Not all doors need to be connected. You can cover a door with a solid wall if you want, it's the way it's intended so you have more versatility.
4. As always all tiles come preconfigured with walls and lights. Once you are done with the building layout you need to use the Macro included in the pack: "TDA Simplify Walls". It's a script we made to delete all overlapping walls in the scene. Make sure the building is completed as this action can not be undone.
5. As the pro tip above said, and optionally, you can fine tune the tiles. Go to "Token Controls" > "(TA) Toggle Quick Edit Mode". In this mode you can select the tiles with the Tile Controls and "Send to Back" or "Bring to Front" depending on what you want, or modify the walls and lights.
6. That's it (again)! Enjoy the map!
Note: the script should work perfectly, but if you find any funny interactions let us know.
