Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War - Loot Of The Rings (Final Jimpressions)

Our last look at Shadow of Mordor delves deeper into how the loot system has changed the game, and the fact that Orcs have lost their flavor.

One of the more generic things I noticed is that when you besiege a castle or whatever, you must capture the imaginatively named, "Victory Points". How little fucking thought did they put into this? Your "Victory Point" is literally just a circle you stand in until you win. Fucking garbage.

After making sure I had my Nemesis Forge lined up in SoM prior to SoW's launch, I went through Act 1 in SoW and found some random scrub orc boasting about our history. Submitted a ticket to WB Support as their FAQ had vague details on how the import would just work like magic. Realizing there would be no immediate response from them, plowed forward with the game. Two weeks later received a response quoting the FAQ. Pressed for details, and a few days later was confirmed that not agreeing to the online/data collection/etc. part of the EULA at start prevents Nemesis Forge from importing. Despite the save data from SoM being right there on my PC. By that point I had already beaten the game and trudged through the 10 rounds of Act 4: Shadow Wars. Decided I had an OK time and uninstalled to clear up space. Glad I only bought the basic version for 35% off through GMG vouchers (It's not G2A and I really didn't mind WB missing out on money). The sacrifices WB demands you make to not be faced with loot boxes and play offline in a Single Player game.

Glad I didn't buy it.
