I just don't care all that much. Sure. Let him be in Smash. Let his powers be cheating-related, that would be kind of amusingly meta. I'm not going to buy a game for his presence, and I think most of the criticism of the character stands, but there's some small fanbase somewhere, that isn't hurting anything. As for a small group of idiots not recognizing that their scorched-earth tactics only discredit everyone who can be remotely associated with them, gee, doesn't that sound a million times familiar. Just today I was reading of people rubbing their hands together at the possibility that a couple of people badmouthing Total Biscuit after his passing might be enough to sink Anthem. Social media: sitting in a powder keg, waiting for someone else to drop their lit match.

2018-07-03 04:18:54 +0000 UTCI know of at least 3 people who have latched, utterly without irony, onto Waluigi. I still don't think the character has been "fleshed out" the way that folks like Dan Rykert and Jim insist, but I'd never want to take that adoration from them. Wa-on, you crazy diamonds.

2018-07-02 22:45:56 +0000 UTCI'm noticing a similar parallel between people who want to dismiss anyone who likes Waluigi and people who want to dismiss anyone who didn't like The Last Jedi. They latch onto a tiny fraction of toxic harassers and use them as a way to ignore any disagreement and elevate their own pop culture tastes to moral righteousness.
