It is one thing for a game or any work to take inspiration from something, but it is another thing to use your sole inspiration as crutch. If that crutch were to be removed, could it still stand on its own two legs? For this game, probably not. I've never played a Souls game but I am aware of them enough through media to see this game apeing Dark Souls. It does not even try to hide it, which can say about the inner creativity of a work. Maybe in a Humble Bundle $1-5 tier, I could see myself giving this a shot, but then again, I probably should get around to playing Dark Souls in the first place to see why everyone loves the bloody damn series as if it is the second coming of Jesus.
