Hey, Why Not Check Out Boston's Favorite Son?

This is a little off topic, but I know a few of you will likely be fans of my old podcast work, particularly The Dismal Jesters. If you're interested in a unique podcast of comedy showbiz lies, then Boston's Favorite Son may be for you.

It may or may not contain film pitches for Willem Dafoe.

This is wonderful.

Oh man, I missed this so much. Would be lovely to get this added to a regular feed of some sort. Or posted on patreon even.

Well there was that point when the Fist Shark execs hired Paulson.

Awesome, I hope this is an opportunity for Soda Baby to make a return!

This was awesome and made my day Jim, I'm so glad to see you all back together, but I did have a problem with Willem Dafoe's character in the film pitch. I don't think he was heroic enough, so I think that when he's breaking into the factory the scene should be a reenactment of the Indonesian action film the Raid but with innocent employees at a cupcake factory serving in place of violent criminals at an apartment building whose owner produces drugs. He'll just run up and assault some random factory employees going about their probably evil day. Just be sure to write in a scene where Willem Dafoe turns to the camera and says"dont worry kids, they work for the bad guy of the movie, so its okay for me to be doing this, its morally justified because Charles Dance wont let me have a cupcake". Then he'll do the bit where he picks a guy up by the legs and swings him headfirst into a concrete wall so hard it cracks and then he'll say "That's for trying find a decent job in these rough economic times. Remember kids economic uncertainty is no excuse for working for a man who wont let a strange guy who looks like he'll eat your children walk into his factory and lick all his products."

well this has easily been the highlight of my year so far

I love that years later there is still this slight audio buzz whenever Jonathan talks. Is Road Rules actually available anywhere?

Dismal Jesters & the old episodes of Podtoid are still up.

Going in I was skeptical I would enjoy this but it was truly hilarious. I would love to hear more of these!

Bonus points for use of chainmale freak out

JONATHAN MANDRAKE MASTER OF MAGIC, FEAR AND ILLUSION I'm ever so sorry about this Jim... EDIT: There is a small dark part of me that I don't like to talk about that secretly wishes Jim Sterling directed superhero films.

Freakish Uproar

The prodigal chungus have returned.

YES

So interesting video!))

Please, make a musical episode. My life will not be complete until this happens.

Theo Caro

I can't begin to express how happy this makes me. I have a pretty special connection with TDJ - I listened to it at a time in my life when I was extremely isolated and depressed, and it made me feel a lot less alone in a weird kind of parasocial way. I've missed that show so much, and if this episode is any indication it's basically like there was never a 5 year break at all.

Riley

Comedy gold; yes please. Stupid f***king d**kheads ASSEMBLE!

Robert Snader

Also, it took me WAY too long to realise you were talking about MINCE not MINTS.

Elizabeth Gipps

Reminds me of the glory days of Podtoid and Dismal Jesters. Always loved the chemistry you three had together.

Sam Standen

I recently listened to the entirety of The Dismal Jesters for the first time, so this is great timing for me. Can't wait to hear at least one "Now hear me out..."

The Memory Card

'Thanks, I love you too, in a way' is a powerful and devastating response to 'I love you'.

Is this going to be in the Jimquisition podcast feed or will it get one of its own?

John Seaward

Seriously Jim, you should do a musical. Or at least just sing a song in one of your Jimquisitions
