It occurred to me one day that I had as a straight white mostly capitalist without planning or realizing it surrounded myself with the input of very openly gay liberal anti-capitalist YouTubers entirely: Quinton, Lindsay, etc.. and hadn't really questioned it too much simply because that's whose content I was finding enriching, and I think that's how it should go rather than the political tribalism of only consuming things that don't question or challenge us and already completely agree with our current ideology. Because you may talk about video games, pop culture references, industry bullshit, and silly noises, but you have Jim. You've challenged me. You've both sharpened and softened me, and I love ya for it.

I was at the point where I was starting to not listen to podcasts so I had some saved up for when I hopefully return to work soon. But I don't think I can pass up one with a description like that...

I'd be happy if 'jimpressions' was expanded to include older games, steam trash, movies, boglins or whatever-the-fuck jim happens to have an 'impression' of on any given day. I tune in to Jim Sterling for Jim Sterling, everything else is secondary - but I guess that's all from the perspective of someone who doesn't have to deal with algorithms and youtube BS so I dunno if it's a sound concept or not.

Just in case it wasn't clear, I'm really enjoying this. I *like* lofi stuff like this. You mentioned that it's like State of Sterling and it also reminds me of the "talking bollocks" segments you used to do, which I really miss. Oh, and since you'll probably see this here whereas you likely won't on YouTube, I really appreciate the "fuck cops" bit in the Overpaid Wormboy video. More like that please.
