Fair enough. And that's on me for not finishing my own thought. $100k to us "normal" folks is a ton of money. To EA, that's nothing. I want EA to give multi-billion dollar corporation money, like $100 million. Something that companies like EA will actually notice that they've done and money like that could be spread around hundreds of organizations because there is no shortage of organizations doing good things, happily and sadly. Happily because thank goodness we have so many organizations doing great things. Sadly that we even need so many organizations to help attempt to dismantle this awful system. So yeah, if that's what EA's going to do, fine. It's pandering from their perspective but if it's the best we can get from it, okay then. But I want and the community-at-large deserves more.

i'm not going to shit on companies for giving to charity no matter what their motive(even if they could've certainly given more) so people can dismiss it as pandering if they want to, but at the end of the day 100K is still certainly nothing to sneeze at, i'll take whatever I can get at this point. I will how however gladly shit on them for not hiring more minorities and LGBTQ folks.

Yes yes yes, everything here, yes. I saw that article by Kotaku of what game devs/publishers were doing and saw EA giving like $100k and thought, "That's like, one day's worth of revenue. There are individuals raising more money through their communities (see Cypheroftyr's Bail Project fundraising stream from last Tuesday). Eff off EA with that pandering garbage!" I think Harry Potter is still a good franchise in spite of some issues and JK's ill-conceived and cringe-inducing statements. Anyways good points, I don't mind companies speaking out and even if Kotick is grossly overpaid i'm not going to get mad at Activision giving money to charity, I just wish they'd back up their statements with real actions and change. I don't think Laura Bailey voicing Nadine was a bad thing, (honestly I had no clue she was voiced by a white woman until I saw people pointing it out on social media this year) but at the same time i'm curious what someone like say Cree Summer doing her voice would've been like.
