right? that's what I kept thinking during podquisition last week. Arise's approach isn't perfect either, but it's night and day between the two.

Ability to summon some 'creature vision' that lets you identify friend and foe and a target you need to take care of, ability to jump from a great height into a pile of hay and survive, ability to somehow miraculously convince people around you that you're being stealthy when you kinda aren't, and that your magic is the product of your lineage and that all your descendants will miraculously learn all your magical abilities.

I actually can't believe that Tales of Arise put a little more nuance into the slavery narrative than Square.
