That is more important than fancy graphics, and I mean that. Just like the DualSense Controller and the Share Button are better PlayStation upgrades than Ray Tracing ever could be.

As someone who's youngest console is the 3DS - from the looks of graphics, modern video games look mostly like they could compete with a PC. My attitude has been "so what's even the point of getting a PS5 or Xbox Series X or a Switch" (and I don't use a PC for gaming). Focusing on what it feels like to play would definitely help sway me to a console gamer again.

2024-10-01 00:23:07 +0000 UTCI think I've turned on Ray Tracing for one game, Doom Eternal, and while it's so well optimised it runs like a vindaloo the next day, the game itself soon bored me (no, really) and I have since played Fallout 4 (until the NG version killed off my mods) and am currently on Skyrim (still great, no lives-service, online requirements or lootbox bollocks) I'm loving the Bruce Lee visual gags, BTW!
