The Dilemma Of Ubisoft's Dilemma (The Jimquisition)

Ubisoft is in trouble. Sales are down, market value is down, investor goodwill is down, down, down. Ubisoft, quite honestly, deserves its straits and more, but the problem in wishing for that is how many undeserving people get dragged down as well.

I say this as someone who, as a teenager, was a HUGE Assassin's Creed fan (the one that made me quit was "Black Flag" - I want to say that so timelines can add up) - the only real defense I can give to Ubisoft is "at least they're not Activision." The fact the execs will survive just makes me sick.

Yup. Diving deep just for lols is something you have to be very rich to indulge in Morbid pun fully intended!

That's like saying they were no good people in Dresden when the U.S. firebombed the place, or no good people in Hiroshima. There's tons of great people at ALL the major developers working in shitty conditions because economics dictate that they HAVE to in order to pay the bills and take care of the fam. Grand Moff Tarkin was a total prick...that doesn't mean the guy who fills the vending machines on level 23 had to die with him.

I can see where you're coming from, but no one who actually WORKS at these companies can afford to be a Titanic tourist. Only the management gets away from a ship this large slipping beneath the waves.

Harry

Not in my experience. It's that we've got bills to pay, and it can be hard to find a new job (*especially* now).

There is a condition I want to ask about though. Has anyone ever known someone who knows that they work for a sinking ship of a company, but that they've developed this morbid curiosity to ride down with it to the bottom of the ocean just to see what it looks like along the way? Like they know they're doomed, but they just gotta see it. What is that, and is it treatable?

"There were a lot of good people on the deathstar" No they weren't.
