July Developer Diary #7

Hey, VoidBounders!

Those months do go by fast, but rest assured, we haven't stood still for a second and are currently busy at working on the demo. I can't really announce the demo release date quite yet, but we're aiming for a release in the second week of July. 

This demo won't be an alpha version, but a demo worthy of a hour of playtime. We re-worked and streamlined everything, adding new text as well. The text that you were once familiar with has been cut in half and rewritten to ensure no loss of information, to make for a smoother experience.  We even implemented a whole new combat tutorial that will be more tied into the combat system. 

We're really looking forward to showing it you guys, so you can see with your own two eyes that VoidBound will be game unlike any other. We really appreciate how patient everyone has been with us, and will make sure to be worthy of that trust.

Now that I have adressed the huge elephant in the room, let me share a detailed summary on what we worked on in June specifically:

- Text has been finished for the update.

- Seven backgrounds are done.

- Various standing arts.

- Combat SFX are being made, half of it is done.

- Battle Objects are done. Assets for it are nearly done.

- New light system is nearly done.

- Particle animation support for all maps is nearly done.

- 3 out of 10 maps for a future update are done.

- Various new expressions for all characters are in the works.

- Henosis is progressing smoothly.

- New enemy/event map AI is in progress.

- New combat enemy AI is in progress.

- Caly voice lines for reaction is in progress.

- Optimization of the performance is being improved.

- Memory leak issues are fixed.

- New musical tracks you can select from Caly's room.

- Balancing of the combat.

- Work on new animations for the combat has started.

- Work has started on a new interface and mechanic regarding "hacking" doors.

I hope you guys are as hyped to play the new demo as we are in showing it. See ya in the next update, which will hopefully be an announcement of the demo release date!
