RISE OF BANGTAN CHAPTER 1 REACTION!
Added 2025-04-05 18:38:19 +0000 UTCGuys, we FINALLY started watching The Rise of Bangtan and we have a whole new level of respect for the boys - wow! ๐คฉ It's so crazy to see the difference between the boys then and now - their style, how they look, and even their dancing! ๐คฏ One thing we found so inspiring is their dedication and belief in themselves - they always knew they were going to be something big! What did you guys think when you first saw Rise of Bangtan (or any of the content used)? ๐

2025-04-25 12:37:02 +0000 UTCHello!!! I'm late to watching this video but I loved the reaction! Being double biased is definitely a thing, haha. It often happens when your love for your bias wrecker grows so much that you don't even want to call them your wrecker anymore, you just start to think of them as another bias. That's what happened to me, Jimin has always been my bias and JK was my wrecker, but now I'm Jimin and Jungkook double biased. J Hope is my wrecker now :)

2025-04-09 14:17:12 +0000 UTCI'm late to watching this, so I'm sure people have already told you... but never believe the members when they talk about their ages. ๐ In Korea they count age differently. In general, always subtract one to two years from whatever they say. The most accurate is to use their birthdates and calculate. So, when Jungkook said he was 16 in February 2013, he was actually 15. (2013 minus his birth year 1997, minus 1 because his birthday is in September.) Here are their birthdays: Namjoon: September 12, 1994 Jin: December 4, 1992 Yoongi: March 9, 1993 Hobi: February 18, 1994 Jimin: October 13, 1995 Tae: December 30, 1994 Jungkook: September 1, 1997

2025-04-08 19:57:30 +0000 UTCOh my gosh, what a great reaction!!! I love the time you two spend on the little details. I had the same reaction when the journalist compared idol training to football academies. It doesn't make the bullying and harassment within the system okay, but it explains the existence of that system. I think people already answered your questions about the training period and V. But I loved seeing you all be low-key offended that V wasn't in there ๐๐๐ me too when I first watched!!!! Hahahaha Seeing this first ep again reminds me of how much their fashion and style has grown. I remember when I first saw their initial fashion, I found it cringe for multiple reasons. Seeing their evolution was gratifying.

2025-04-07 14:51:46 +0000 UTCI definitely think they should take some time off to relax too, they honestly deserve it after all the hard work theyโve put in. Weโre definitely excited about hearing any of their new projects and weโll be at the concert ๐ donโt worry ๐คฃ๐คฃ

2025-04-07 09:17:21 +0000 UTCFirst off, thanks so much for your comment ๐ and yeah it was quite a surprise when we realised that V wasnโt in the video ๐ I wonder why the kept him a surprise ? Was he already big and they wanted a boost for the group or was it just to shock the audience ?
The Vibe Check
2025-04-07 09:15:36 +0000 UTCWow the freedom part is something we actually took because Iโm sure it allowed them to express themselves through their music a lot better !!!
The Vibe Check
2025-04-07 07:51:49 +0000 UTCSo if I get this right the auditions and scouting were to join the trainee group for big hit ? And then afterwards the 7 of them were picked from that pool ? Am I correct in my assumption ?

2025-04-07 07:47:46 +0000 UTCThis is such a good documentary ๐ญ were you keeping up with the vlogs too ? If Iโm not mistaken they do them on weverse right ?

2025-04-06 18:01:24 +0000 UTCV was kept hidden. Initially people thought there were only 6 members, but indeed there were 7. Supposedly, Big Hit were afraid he would be poached by another company so kept him as a secret weapon. (Don't know if this is actually true, but it's a great story.)๐

2025-04-06 16:26:57 +0000 UTC38:05 - to answer your questions, yes BTS members had to go through the training period because not all of them were signed immediately as BTS members - only Namjoon was signed as a member basically straight away, whereas the others were signed as trainees to BigHit company before gradually being confirmed as members over time (the rapline was confirmed first, the vocal line a bit later on with Jimin being the last one to join as a trainee). There is an INCREDIBLY LONG but comprehensive set of posts on Reddit that actually outline the BTS pre-debut history - who joined when, what happened, based on posts and other official content, although there are some details that ARMY still don't for sure because pre-debut (especially pre-2013) wasn't as comprehensively documented as post-debut. I encourage all ARMY who are curious about the history / formation of the team to read, its very detailed.! https://www.reddit.com/r/bangtan/comments/bi521g/bts_predebut_history_20102013_part_1/ https://www.reddit.com/r/bangtan/comments/bidq1n/bts_predebut_history_20102013_part_2/ https://www.reddit.com/r/bangtan/comments/bk33os/bts_predebut_history_20102013_part_3/

2025-04-06 13:01:17 +0000 UTCFor future Rise of Bangtan reactions, could you please make the screen a little bit bigger? They often have blurbs on the side / corners so when the screen is quite small its harder to follow along. Enjoying your content regardless, I appreciate how much attention you pay to the details!

2025-04-06 12:34:40 +0000 UTCI love the Rise of Bangtan series, I think it's a fantastic and very comprehensive compilation of the content BTS has released over the years and it really follows their journey from the start to late 2018 (unfortunately Aneesa, the original creator of the series, wasn't able to complete it but it has 21 episodes plus bonus scenes and deleted scenes for each episode that was created). They do also have company-made documentaries: BTS Monuments Beyond The Stars (docu-series only) on Disney+ - it covers their 10 years from 2013 up to Jin going into military service so has footage from earlier docs and later footage that you won't see in RoB. Burn The Stage follows their Wings Tour in 2017 and is available on YouTube Premium in both film and series formats. Bring the Soul and Break the Silence follows their Love Yourself tours across 2018/19 are available on Kocowa+ here in the UK. They both have film and series formats and you'll see clips from some of these docos in later episodes of RoB.

2025-04-06 02:43:47 +0000 UTCI feel like my other comment was too long so Iโm gonna finish it off here lol But Yes BTS also trained with a lot of other people and the line up was different throughout 2010-2013 till they found the right 7. The group was built around RM and I believe Jimin was the determining factor of if they were going straight hip hop or idol group. Jimin was the final member and was threatened with being cut alot. Keep in mind Jimin only trained for less than a year while the other members had built bonds by then. But you will see a rapper name Supreme boy pop on alot of BTS songs. He was gonna be in BTS but decided not to debut and became a producer for Big hit instead. Itโs alot to it and forming groups. But even if some trainees donโt make it in the group they still have chances to make it in another group or they can use their talents in other areas. And yes V was the surprise/bonus member. He was there longer than Jimin. I wonโt go too much into it because it will be explained in the next episode
Ana
2025-04-06 02:32:18 +0000 UTCGreat reaction. Please make the captions bigger So the scouting thing is pretty much the same as the western world. Talent agencies will hold big auditions with thousands of people Jimin and V were found that way. They were the only people who made it through in their separate auditions out of thousands. Then they will also hold competitions like Suga where even though he placed second his talent was still noticed by people at the agency. So they still scouted him to become a producer but was later ask to join BTS. Similar to Jk but JK was on Korean music competition. He didnโt win but people were still watching and 7 agencies contacted him Then thereโs where they just go around looking for good looking people. It can be at malls or anywhere a scouting agent sees a person who looks amazing Jin was scouted twice by just walking on the street. And they trained him up. Ashton Kutcher was also scouted like this in a mall. This actually happens a lot. So the training system with BTS is different than other agencies. They had a bit more freedom but it was still a brutal experience. They all definitely struggled through it.

2025-04-06 02:26:52 +0000 UTCYou should react to more Blackpink, and watch their netflix documentary that show more of their trainee process

2025-04-06 02:26:05 +0000 UTCFew people realizes that V is not on the first vlogs, but you guys noticed!๐ yea V was hidden until debut

2025-04-06 02:24:40 +0000 UTCHi guys, Jimin was actually the last member to join BTS. I believe his training period was only 6-9 months long. I love that your reacting to this series as it is done so well. The guys will all be back from military service in June. Not sure how long it will be before they have a comeback, but I hope they take some time to themselves to get reacclimated. Good luck trying to get concert tickets. Even back in 2019 it was like the Hunger Games to get tickets and they have grown exponentially since then. I've seen them once live and they were AMAZING. So sad as I was supposed to see them two more times, but the pandemic struck. I'm hoping to get tickets when they come back. Love your reactions!

2025-04-06 01:14:56 +0000 UTCYes! You absolutely can have a double bias!! You can have as many bias as it suits you but overall be OT7. I am a Suga/V bias but I love and support all 7 members fully! Youโll be surprised how often different members sneak in and be a bias wrecker at different times ๐. Also, this episode was an introduction to how kpop came about, how it works, and of course the creation of BTS, all of the rest of the episodes will be more BTS centered. I must say, this series is amazing and Aeneas and her team did a phenomenal job on all episodes. As someone else mentioned, there are deleted scenes and bonus content for each episode. By the way, there is an MV for the song they performed We are bulletproof pt. 2. Also, you are correct, V was a hidden member until debut so he wasnโt featured in this episode however the part of the video where you were looking for him among the members, he was actually standing in the corner just out of the cameras view ๐. Great traction! Iโm so grateful you both absorb so much of the content being presented and actually discuss itโฆyouโre definitely Army!! Borahae!!๐๐๐๐๐๐๐Apobangpo! (Army forever, BTS forever)

2025-04-05 21:23:21 +0000 UTCI'm really happy you are starting this series as you'll see all the hard work, struggles, hardships they went through to get where they are now. It's great how Aneesa (the creator of this docu-series) shows the difference between the other Kpop companies and how they treat their trainees/idols compared to Big Hit. The guys were given freedom to produce and had artistic freedoms and they didn't have as strict rules as other companies. Don't get me wrong, they did have rules, Jin said all he ate was chicken breasts for months so he could stay a certain weight, but it wasn't as bad as the big 3 idol companies. Please note that the chapters also have bonus and deleted episodes which are funny to watch! After you finish this maybe you can start the documentaries made by BTS: Burn the Stage, Bring the Soul, and Break the Silence ! You'll never run out of content with BTS!

2025-04-05 20:05:13 +0000 UTCOmg so glad you guys started watching Rise of Bangtan! Such a good documentary. Referring to your trainee period comment, yes BTS did go through the trainee period just like normal idols do. They each trained for 1-3 years (Jimin being on the shorter end of that period and RM having the longest training period since he joined the company first). And yes they definitely were part of a larger trainee pool and ended up debuting as 7 members. The lineup kept on changing in their pre-debut days, as it usually does with most kpop groups. So while Suga won second place, it has been claimed that i11evn (who won first place) left because the direction that they were taking BTS was not for him (idk how true that is but that's what most people claim happened since he was very much focused on underground rap at that time and BTS was supposed to become a kpop idol group). V was actually kept as a "secret" member until they debuted as sort of a wild card so to speak. He was there just lingering in the background.
