This song was truly MAGICAL ๐ง This is our first time ever listening to MAGIC SHOP and honestly everything about the song was amazing - especially those vocals?! We are stunned once again! We love these types of songs that have a real meaning behind the lyrics - match that with a beautiful tune and hypnotising vocals (see what I did there ๐) and it's a recipe for a great tune ๐ญ The song was so great we went on the ultimate YAPPING session afterwards ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ What did you guys think the first time YOU heard MAGIC SHOP? ๐ฎ

In the weeks before my mother passed away, I would drive for an hour each day to see her in the hospital. For some strange reason, even though I had my playlist on shuffle, Magic Shop came on every day as I drove. It provided me so much comfort in a difficult time and I can't hear it now without feeling that same warmth flow over me. BTS was and is a comfort and Magic Shop is their gift to us.

2025-04-21 23:09:35 +0000 UTCThis is basically a fan song, a song dedicated by BTS to us ARMYs. RM says: "What did I say, didn't I say we would win?", "I do believe your galaxy." JK says: "Let me tell you a story" V says: "I know you're hesitant, even if I tell you the truth, Because in the end, it all comes back with scars." BTS have fought against racism, hate, prejudice especially since 2017 when the western world 'discovered' them. As they battle that, ARMYs also help BTS fight countless ongoing battles and get hurt in the process. With this song, BTS recognises the struggles ARMY have gone through and how we and BTS have only each other. So RM always comforts us by saying that as long as we walk together and diligently, we will win in the end. He says he believes in our galaxy because whenever they see us at concerts, they see a sea of bright lights, bright ARMY bombs and it looks like a small galaxy to BTS. They are acknowledging that we have earned scars while fighting and speaking up for BTS and they want to comfort us. They 'created' a special place only BTS and ARMY know: Magic Shop. Once we go in, we can let all our worries melt away and just have a warm cup of tea and enjoy each other's presence. Tell each other stories, indulge in the safe space that only ARMY and BTS understand. In a way, this is also their follow up fan song to the first one called, 2!3! Hoping for better Days. This song is deeply emotional and was when we were going through so much hardships, accusations of plagiarism, being bullied and looked down upon.

This song was my Magic Shop. When I finally had a successful pregnancy, my son became my Magic Shop. This is my lullaby to my newborn. ๐ถ

Jungkook helped compose it, and Joonie (Namjoon) wrote some of the most important lines โ you can feel his heart in every word โ๏ธ The message of exchanging fear for comfort is so powerful. That line โYou gave me the best of me, so youโll give you the best of youโ โ itโs such a Joonie line, comforting and empowering at the same time ๐ซ๐ซ And seeing it live with all the ARMY Bombs lighting up the stadium? Gabri's little looks to the camera, Anna's constant emphasis that he's been in the UK/Ireland for 10+ years (so claiming being Italian isn't working ๐๐), and your back-and-forth on analyses hahaha. I really love it! Such a special song and one of my faves for when I am feeling down. The lyrics at the end wreck me every time: "you gave me the best of me, so you give you the best of you." I think we don't often do that for ourselves. As in, we're our biggest critics in a negative way. We might give all our love and affection to others (in the case of this song, BTS is the recipient of the love from ARMY, i.e., "best of me", pulling RM back from the cliff, helping the members through destructive emotions, etc.), but not to ourselves. The song really is for fans that are in a dark place. And the fact that BTS put a purposeful callback in the song is incredible. BTS saying, "so show me," and the audience answering with, "I'll show you" KILLS ME EVERY TIME AHHHHHH. I'll show you that I will give myself the best of me ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ In terms of self-love songs, I think it is one of the top I have ever heard. Because loving yourself is work and they're acknowledging that. But they're also saying that when things get tough, go to them for comfort (the "Magic Shop"), and then go back out to the world to work on loving yourself. Every person has a galaxy inside them that they can embroider their own skies with. It's just a matter of finding it. I am a grown ass adult analyzing this song like it's my job hahahaha.

BTS have talked about how ARMY is their home and that being / connecting with us is their safe space, like how Magic Shop is intended as a comforting and safe space for us too. So in that regard, they do have a connection. 2025-04-16 15:18:18 +0000 UTCLightsticks are part of the kpop culture! Each group, once they are established to a certain point, will have their own lightsticks. Ours is called the ARMY bomb because of the design (sometimes written as ami bamb / bomb on soc media) and ARMY will bring it with them for all performances possible that include BTS or a member of BTS. We will keep them lit up / turned on when other artists perform in shared performances because its really rude to turn it off (called a black ocean) but we will keep the light on purple. If its a BTS / BTS member concert, then it syncs to the venue but for random / shared performances you can control it via the app. I think one of the award shows actually banned lightsticks and created their own coz ARMY showed up and showed out, but I can't remember what year that was (and they still snuck them in anyway :D)

"so show me" - "ill show you" part always makes me emotional. this whole interaction with bts is beautiful. the first teaser of FAKE LOVE music video explains โmagic shopโ as a psychodramatic technique that exchanges fear for a positive attitude. magic shop and fake love are on the same album and overall it also connects to their fictional storyline. but magic shop alone is just a beautiful song dedicated to army.

They change colors and because seating is assigned, they are able to coordinate the colors to create images and words using the army bombs in the audienceโฆitโs really neat! Also, since you brought up Coldplay, BTS did a song with Coldplay, My universe, and thereโs a short behind the scenes with Chris Martin and co. going to S. Korea during the pandemic to record the song. Thereโs also a cool MV and a live performance with both bands! BTS has also covered Coldplayโs song Fix you that they perform on MTV unplugged which is amazing, and Coldplay also wrote a song for Jin to sing before he left for the military called The Astronaut which also has a MV and a live version during a Coldplay concert in Argentina I believe. All of these are must watch ๐. By the way, Jungkook wrote the draft for Magic shop, and RM used the draft to write the lyrics as well as his part. Suga, and JHope also contributed their verses.

They connect via Bluetooth in the stadium and lets the lighting team set up pre-planned displays for certain segments. They can also connect to Bluetooth on your phone for certain content, like some MVs on Weverse are able to connect and the colour changes automatically corresponding with the MV colours โบ๏ธ
