The Creative Process [Blog Post]

Hey there all my $5+ monkeys. Here's another blog post about my life, thoughts, routine as a YouTube creator. You guys seem to enjoy these and not find them entirely boring, so, that's good!

I have a "real world" job where I'm traveling over 150 days out of the year; planes, buses, cars, boats, if it moves, I've been on it this year already. This means that when I am home, it's crunch time. I've got to make time to record, write, make the most of the opportunity to basically stockpile and pre-upload weeks in advance, so that no matter when/where I get the call to leave home, my Tribe has an audio every Monday.

One of my favorite things to do while I'm traveling is to write. If I'm on a long flight, long road trip, that's where a lot of my scripts get written. I'm also very much a morning person, so on the days I'm home, often the hours between 6-8am are spent writing scripts over a great cup of coffee. Honestly, that is the best "me time" I get in this life. That sweet time before the phone starts ringing, before the world is awake, where it's just me and my imagination.

While this Youtube channel has definitely become a full-time commitment and could be categorized as "work" or even a second job, it is my great escape. As someone who otherwise doesn't really know how to stop working, this channel came into my life and gave me something I'd never had before- a hobby. A chance to "play". A reason to procrastinate on adulting. And you know what? I'm thankful for it. It's given me a piece of my soul back I didn't necessarily know I was losing to the real world. You guys, my Tribe, continue to cheer that on and inspire me, and I'm beyond thankful for every one of you. Thank you for reminding me it's okay to play, to use my imagination, to create simply for the art and pleasure of it.
