This episode is full of great humour in the dialogue. One of my favourites is: Willow: He said he wasn't coming back until he'd driven to all fifty states. Buffy: Did you explain about Hawaii? Willow: Well, he seemed so determined. And also when Buffy says 'Thanks for the Dadaist pep talk. I feel much more abstract now.'

I liked the metaphor of Buffy having to run from Sundae , the first big vampire she meets in college, I don't remember her ever having to run in high school, except for from the monster in Nightmares., And that was a nightmare. Suddenly she wasn't at the top anymore. Like many students feel when they get to university.

I feel like the first fight with Buffy and Sundae just shows how at *any* time, a slayer can die. Could just be an off day of Buffy's and she dies. She has been feeling quite insecure and out of sorts since starting college and she walks into the vampire's territory, surrounded, insulted, and feeling emotionally weak. I always love how much you pay attention to details. Like the beginning scenes walking through campus and there's the cheery friend who loves being there and the friend who seemingly already knows everyone on campus. I felt that way, too, my first days of college, too!

Gosh, I've seen Buffy when it aired, in UK, and I don't remeber much, apart from few crutial episodes and the fact that took me totally by surprise because I loved i so much and everybody I knew loved it too. But the more I rewatch it with you and the more I start to remember it....but the best part, in my opinion, is still to come. And Angel is a great show.

Don’t mind Pat. Great reaction. Thanks for working so hard. Also, I heard somewhere the reason that vampire was so strong was because she may have been a slayer once and I think there was supposed to be a storyline that followed that but the actress wasn’t available anymore to do it for the show. Anyone else wanna confirm that?
