You're so very right when you say Spike is a very layered character. He's such a fascinating and compelling character.

Marta Clemente Corredor

Ah yes, useless Xander, who, by this time has been pivotal in saving the world 3 times.

Thom Purdy

After Buffy & Spike , Anya is definitely my favourite character in the show .She is so much more entertaining than whiny Willow & useless Xander .

Jim Greer

Makes sense that Willow and her family would be extra sensitive to the plight of Native Americans, because they're Jewish.

Foamy

I have to say, you have one of the most contagious laughs of the reactors I've watched.

Nicholas Corgan

yh, absolutely everybody gets that, it isn't really subtext when they state it pretty much out right. It also isn't relevant to the discussion around the fact that Willow acted damn terribly once people started dying.

Zak

the subtext is clearly about celebrating Thanks Giving. The metaphors are there. This is a total analysis of my doing and my opinion: the Thanks Giving tradition is the thing that is actually in danger when confronted with history. Buffy, the all American female blonde is determined to keep the tradition alive while encountering Willow's arguments and the spirits of the indigenous people. They defeat the native Americans' both physically and intellectually (see Spike's perspective) and continue upholding that tradition.

Thanksgiving is a time for families to come together and share what they’re grateful for (right before the most grotesque displays of greed and capitalism on Black Friday), but growing up in the 90’s, the holiday was taught to us as a date to commemorate the shared kindness of Native Americans and Pilgrims as they merged their cultures at a dinner table. (The gruesome genocide was always glossed over.)

Ngl I *love* your love for Spike. Non-spoilery, but the fandom is so divided on his character, and I never was (just on some of the choices made for him occasionally). But I love that you already see all of his layers, srsly. This is gonna be so much fun. 😂❤

Bixgirl1

Jdhdhdhd those thumbnails! 😂😂😂😂 Idk why this moment is so freaking hysterical but I've seen this episode *countless* times and Spike freaking out over a bear never fails to make me laugh lmaoooo

Bixgirl1

Yea like... ultimately Willow is right imo, but the time to fight for that ideal is not while your bff is dying of syphilis.

Bisibia

There is a time and place for compassion, and a time and place for stopping a murderer, regardless of their provocation.

Shaun Houghton

ive no issue with her stance tbh but the imo when a good friend of urs is dying and people are getting killed you put ur feelings to one side and stop the murderer

Zak

Oh yes, such an angering stance on colonialism. That Bitca!

omri hadad

and yes Spike is great, he is my favourite fictional character, love him.

Zak

Willow pisses me off so much in this episode tbh, other than that it is pretty good

Zak

Spike's face with the final shot is my favorite part of this amazingly funny episode.

Ashley

Hope I didn’t disappoint 😂

safae mokadem

Priorities first 😂

safae mokadem

This episode is amazing. I LOL every time I watch it :D

Roy Ben-Ami

It's so much fun watching you crack up at the funny parts of this show. This episode is weaker to me, but it is still very fun to watch. "You made a bear!" One of my favorite Spike lines. And I never noticed his expression at the end until you pointed it out. It's hilarious.

Raven Dark

I was praying for you to see spikes face at the ending 😭😭😭😭

xbowalex

So ummm... can I get a note for work for why I’ve suddenly disappeared for the afternoon?
