The scene with Buffy and Joyce at the end is both so poignant and heartwarming. Definitely one of my favorite scenes of the series.

That must've been awful. I'm glad she's better now.

May I say something totally out of contest? I love your nails Sofie, pink and black french, gorgeous!

Buffy’s taking care of her sick mother, her “sister” who apparently is the “key”, not being able to attend college classes which means she’s falling behind, a mysterious woman who seems indestructible and wants the “key”, friends who are reliant on her to do everything, and a boyfriend who’s seriously needy at the worst possible time. Like damn can she get a break!? It’s no wonder she broke down in the kitchen, it’s too much. When you said “Now’s not the time to be playing that stupid music!”had me rolling 😅 If Sophie was in the buffyverse she would absolutely be married to Graham 😀

I actually really like Riley. I think something that this episode shows, and past incidents like when he killed the vamp that almost beat Buffy and blew up his friends is that Riley really is so competent at fighting demons, even without his chemically induced super strength. It's not right that Buffy always treats him like someone who is a liability and in danger. I think Riley is a bit resentful of it too that's why he didn't wait for the scoobies to take on that vampire nest and why he turned to the government instead of them this episode.

I always took Riley's line of not being good at research as a lame excuse to isolate himself and call in the army. If you look back at last season (when he was "secret identity man"), he really wasn't very good at lying and he's definitely on a deception arc right now.

This episode is both heartbreaking and so creepy. The Queller demon freaked me out so much as a kid - UGH! The way it moved across the ceiling and would scurry about was just to gross! Joyce’s brain tumor was causing other parts of her brain to malfunction, and in those moments of mental unwellness Joyce was able to see through the curtain of the spell that is Dawn’s existence. Those moments of mental unwellness also made Joyce susceptible to the Queller as prey. The ending when Joyce and BUffy talk about Dawn is so touching. YOu can see when BUffy is huggin her mother, BUffy herself is wondering what she would do if she ever lost her mother, which she is forced to consider now with this upcoming surgery.

I don’t know who you can wait for another episode. Lol I can’t wait for you to watch more! Thank you for posting.

Also..the bit where Joyce is shouting at herself (the cockroach) in bed and Dawn tries to cover her ears...always sends shivers down my spine. My niece was seriously mentally ill a few years ago (she's still not fully better, but a lot better than she was) and she reminds me of when my niece had her dilusions and hallucinations, or she would just be screaming and crying at nothing, but she thought she saw something horrible .. and we couldn't do anything to help. Just watch. It's so terrifying feeling so helpless 😞

The connection between Glorys victims and Joyce is kind of heavy handed in this. Mixing supernatural and natural and overlapping them in ways that i don't think is dealt with particularly well. Also great point about Riley saying he doesn't know about research even though he was a TA, and all of a sudden seems to know a load about the space cockroach (protein enzymes and gamma radiation?) Some sloppy writing in this one. But some great acting as always and beautiful relationship and interactions between the 3 summers women

That final conversation between Joyce and Buffy is sooo friggen powerful!
