They stayed together for a year maybe after he came back and they kissed and hugged and trained but he never lost his soul then.. so yeah it was the sex... SMG also said that Spike understood buffy on levels no one else did, and tbh Riley although boring as hell might be the best boyfriend choice for Buffy ..the only lore in her relationship with Angel is that forbidden love aspect .. the romeo and Juliet factor of it

Angel will lose his soul in a moment of pure hapiness. He only experiences this with BUffy and that's why he didn't lose his soul with Darla. I think he would lose his soul again if he and BUffy were to make love. Your reaction when Glory rips out her hair was the same as mine! hahha Spike did not need to be invited into the house of that creepy old man with the tail and black eyes. Dawn's wearing green again! :)
