He had a sex toy made that looked and sounded like Buffy. He had sex with that toy. But since he’s a pale male, it’s ok? SMH.

I've just recently joined your patreon and working through season 5. So refreshing to hear someone actually understand Xander as a character, I cannot tell you! Love him. I'm on the Spike/Buffy train also, and I remember having the same reaction. He seems to be learning, doesn't he? But then again, so do dogs when they're put on a leash. 😉

That's only in the shitty HD remaster version that they did. You should never watch the HD version - it is terrible.

Here one of Buffy's biggest lessons, said by herself: "I've lived longer than slayers are supposed to. Learn the world isn't black and white. That you can't paint everyone with the same brush. Human or otherwise" ♡ ♡ ♡

LMAO i never noticed before but at 13:50 of your video, you can see someone's arm in the shot filming the kitty... and then someone's feet at 14:36

To u saying why does spike care so much he's a souless vampire, I just have two things I thought when I had these questions, the 1st being spike is the first souless vampire to have a chip in his brain, it was when druscilla returned and told spike the chip was "spitting bolts of electricity giving him nasty thoughts", that's when I realized maybe it is the chip filling the void to an extent of no soul and that is making him start to care more about humans, particularly buffy and dawn, but that kind of brings me to my next point, we have seen spike without a soul show that to people he loves, he will do pretty much anything for, for instance in the season 2 episode lie to me, him and a bunch a vampires were in the midst on killing a bunch of vampire worshipers and when buffy got to dru and threatened to kill dru, he litteraly gave up a bunch of humans to feed to save on a vampire that he loves, so yeh that was my thought process through this

She kissed spike to say "thank u" knowing that he has feelings for her. He kinda deserved that thing, and his sad face in the final scene makes me sad too

Spike did say all Slayers have a death wish, even Buffy. But he also said that her friends and family tie her here keeping it at bay. So would Buffy have a death wish if she didn't have them? In The Wish we see Buffy without her support system and she had death-wishyness all over her. B-"The world is what it is. We fight, we die. Wishing doesn't change that." And she turns down help to fight the Master. B-"There's only one thing I'm good at." G-"At least let's muster some force." B-"I don't play well with others." And eventually he kills her. So I think it is there and without her friends we'd see the much darker Buffy.

Yeah, the Buffy bot is one of those ideas that seems really terrible and cringy at first, but it was executed brilliantly in this episode, and even provided some much needed comic relief after the past few episodes.

Yes absolutely! I was going to mention that but figured someone else would bring it up. There's also the subtle scene where it's implied that the Buffybot is giving him a blowjob but he looks almost disinterested in it (because she's not real?).
I also love that he programmed the Buffybot to straddle him on top with her stake. That's exactly what Buffy did to him in the Fool for Love alley scene. This is an important contrast to his fight with the Slayer in the subway, where he's straddling her on top before snapping her neck. It's a very subtle but telling comparison about how Spike views his power dynamics with Buffy.

Buffy: Weird love's better than no love.
Next scene: Enter Spike and the sex bot....

Did you notice the first sexual act that we see Spike perform with Robot Buffy is him going down on her? 👀

Basically, the reason the group doesn't figure out that Buffy's a robot sooner is because Buffy just went through major grief, and so they're expecting her to be acting weirdly (but yeah, also cuz they're idiots). And the reason Xander said "it's understandable" is because they didn't want to come off as too harsh, not because he actually thinks it's understandable.
And, at the end of the day, it just makes for funnier writing when the group doesn't figure it out before the real Buffy comes back :P

Also yes, I'm glad you noted the parallels in the phrase "death is your gift" and the comments by spike in 'fool for love': slayers have a death wish and "death is their art. they make it every day with their hands."
