But still this episode was cool and so packed with everything you can hope for.
But have you noticed the change of the style lately the tone of the show has kinda changed and I'm all for it.

2022-03-30 23:20:27 +0000 UTCOf course WB were not interested in giving UPN any leg up, and it was definitely framed in the marketing by WB as if it was a series finale. Most actual fans knew that Buffy would continue on UPN, but I'm sure some casual viewers didn't.

2022-03-30 04:39:27 +0000 UTCI could be wrong, but when you edit this episode pay attention to the conversation between Ben and the female Glory worshipper, they discuss the fact that if Glory uses the key Ben dies and that it was never his life to live anyway, implying several times that he is not natural. I always took the newborn comment to be metaphorical, if I'm wrong, it definitely adds another layer of disturbing to the situation.

Between that and Tara, the show runners have made the viewer truly believe that everyone is in mortal danger, besides Buffy of course (you can't kill off the title character).

I was really proud of you too when you guessed early on that Glory just wanted to go home! :) Honestly, a ton of your predictions and interpretations this season have been really on point! In terms of Ben coming to Buffy's aide though, one thing you might not have realized is that Ben doesn't actually know that Glory knows that Dawn's the key. Maybe if he knew, he wouldn't have risked coming. But then again, who else was going to save Giles? Also, 1:10:38, famous last words 🤣

2022-03-30 00:47:06 +0000 UTCWhen the general say's that Glory was put into a "newborn male CREATED as her prison" I've always thought of it as akin to the monks "creating" Dawn. I don't think that they ever outright state it, but in my mind, Glory was never in the body of a baby.

2022-03-29 20:49:33 +0000 UTCIn regards to using the First Slayer spell that they used to kill Adam, one of the conditions of that spell was that they had to be close to Buffy and for it to be quiet. Luckily they were in a room that would suffice, with Glory it's pretty hard to imagine her being a fixed spot with Buffy and for it to be quiet enough that they wouldn't get interrupted by something/someone. That's how I always looked at why they couldn't use it!

2022-03-29 18:10:13 +0000 UTCAn important thing to remember that is lost on modern watchers of Buffy is that season 5 was slated to be the last season. This was marketed heavily at the time as the series finale. We had NO IDEA there would be two more seasons, and thus ANYTHING could happen at that point. Happy watching my dear!!!!
