Same Time, Same Place

Buffy, Xander and Dawn are unable to find Willow, who has inadvertently made herself invisible to her friends, and vice versa. Willow's return to Sunnydale is marred further by a demon, Gnarl, who relishes the skin of his victims.

They had to ditch the “addicted to magic” if they were going to bring her back.

Rio de Tanana

The last scene is one of my favourites!

Phoenix Dawn

Yup, he was one of the main two, along with Doug Jones (Hellboy, Star Trek Discovery, The Shape of Water).

Eric C. Johnson

200 bonus points for Effulgent 😃👍👍

Wisdom of the Sphynx

So he's the same actor that played the Gentlemen?! That's very cool.

Gnarl is definitely creepier than the gentleman for me as well. The actor did an amazing job.

YES, the basement scene was so so good!

I almost forget - a cheer for every time you said Warren deserved to die. He did and I'm only sorry it was Willow and not Gnarl because he deserved to die slow instead of that poor kid.

I love this episode. The whole 'Willow returns to Sunnydale' storyline feels a bit rushed, but I think that was because there was supposed to be 8 seasons so they had to change some plans. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this. It was very bittersweet with lots of poignant moments, like Willow seeing pictures of everyone without her and her name left off the 'family phone numbers' list. Those little bits punched me in the gut. And Gnarl was absolutely terrifying! I was right there with you with not being able to watch - I've seen this ep several times and I still had to turn my head away during the skin stripping/eating scene. Blllerrrrgghhhh Also it's funny that you mentioned the Gentlemen; I believe the actor that plays Gnarl was also one of the Gentlemen. He really went from strength to strength I gotta admit :D The reunion of the Scoobies was so poignant but like I said, it felt a little rushed. So the highlight of the episode to me was Willow and Anya scenes, both so funny and so double-edged with what they now have in common, and the delight that is Dawn. I adore Dawn so much. I do not understand her naysayers whatsoever; she's so much fun.

Ohhh, a 2-fer! *rubs hands* I love this episode so much. First, the way the concept is executed, the way Willow can't see them and they can't see her. I loved watching you trying to figure it out, and you're so right, it's maddening, but in the best way. Second, the design of Gnarl. He's wonderfully done, and so, so creepy. I was gigging at how freaked out you got. Also, funny you mention The Gentlemen from Hush, and how everyone seems to compare Gnarl to them, because the actor who played him is Camden Toy, and he was the lead Gentleman. :D He's a fantastic physical actor who does creepy so well. And last but certainly not least, the scenes with Spike in the basement were just incredible. I get chills no matter how often I watch it. Phenomenally well-written and acted. All of Spike's scenes that we've seen in this season so far have been steller. I love season 7 so much. 5 is my favorite, but 7 is an extremely close second, and I think you've seen enough of the season so far that that isn't a spoiler. You can already see why it is.

Raven Dark

Gnarl is properly creepy
