2023-01-03 09:39:27 +0000 UTCAngel and Cordelia's sibling-esque dynamic from season 1 and 2 aside, I think an important contextual cue missing from Cordelia's story is actually just how young she's supposed to be. Cordelia, like the rest of the core Scoobies, would be around 20-21 right now, whereas Charisma was in her 30s and by this point started looking her age. I never bought into the whole "mom or step-mom" angle for Cordelia with Connor. The show tries pushing it a little with some of the costumes they put her in; along with the shorter hair. But we're not even talking season 1 of Buffy Charisma. More like, the one episode of Baywatch Charisma was in, and even then she's still a few years older, but it gets you close enough to her babyface to get a better idea. Does it make it better or make you want to ship them? No, but I also don't think we're supposed to be comfortable with it.
