Buffy The Vampire Slayer - S07x11|♡Uncut Reaction &Review♡

When Buffy died in S1, the line then ran through Kendra, and then Faith. The slayer line no longer ran through Buffy, hence why Buffy’s death at the end of S5 did not call another slayer. When Buffy was resurrected with mystical energy, the slayer line ran through her again, hence the first’s opportunity - since Buffy’s resurrection in S6 the line ran through both Faith and Buffy, which means from then on there would always be two slayers called, which tipped the scales of good and evil and allowed the first to strike.

I just realized that the reason the Turok-Han could enter ahome without n invite is because it pre-dates the very concept of "home".

She’s definitely in love with him. And has been for a long time.

My take on the slayer line and Buffy's death is that it was when she drown and the slayer line split. That is when the First started this whole thing. Otherwise, why, exactly, was The First trying to take Angel off the playing field, just like he is doing with Spike and the others? He may have ramped up NOW, but he started this in season 3. At least that is how I see it. If he kills all the potentials, then Faith, then Buffy, even if new potentials are born, there is no one to kill to transfer the power to. That has everything to do with the line splitting and nothing to do with Buffy being brought back again. She holds the power, but can't transfer it again. If there was anything spoilery in there, I am so sorry. Delete the post. Not intentional.

Yeah, it comes down to interpretation. Yours is kind of the traditional way of thinking about it (and perfectly valid), but it doesn't explain what happened to give the First an opportunity to act now. It also doesn't explain why, on multiple occasions in season 7, they say that if Buffy dies a new slayer will be called.

it's always been my understanding that each slayer can only be replaced once. If brought back, although they will have the slayer power still, they do not get replaced when they die again. SO when Buffy died in Season 5, mystically or not, there is no replacement for her since she was already replaced with Kendra. Faith would have to die for the next one to be called. I don't know for sure, it seems pretty vague and murky.

I've always thought that the thing that opened up an opportunity for the first was that the way that Willow resurrected Buffy the second time caused Buffy to be put back in the slayer line. So now there are 2 slayers in lineage, whereas prior to season 6, Kendra then Faith were the true slayer lineage. This also explains why they say that if Buffy dies now a new slayer will be called.

The first time Buffy died it was natural (drowning) and she was brought back naturally. The second time Buffy both died and was resurrected mystically, allowing the first to take an advantage. The “forcing surrounding the chosen one” that Beljoxa’s eye spoke of could also be in reference to Spike getting his soul back as the advantage the First has, which makes sense considering It tried to do the same when Angel was re-ensouled.

Oh my god, I didn't even realize that till now))

"Here endeth the lesson" - Buffy quoting Spike in his lesson to her from Fool for Love <3

I want to explain everything I think the Beljoxa’s eye meant.. but I can’t without spoiling something that comes up soon.. maybe in the next episode. so I’ll comment then. but ahhh this episode is so good 🥹🙌🏽 I love the reveal of the telepathic convo between the scoobies and then the big fight was so intense. her victory was so sweet! and yes the spike/buffy scene at the end is one of my favorite moments of theirs 💜
