While pursuing an assassin, Obi Wan uncovers a sinister plot to destroy the Republic. With the fate of the galaxy hanging in the balance, the Jedi must defend the galaxy against the evil Sith.
since you just started an amazing series Avatar: last airbender which Dave Filoni was a key contributor to. Who would later work with George Lucas to do Clone Wars and other Star Wars projects. Well Clone Wars has many amazing episodes (arcs) it is long. If you want to experience some star wars animated look into Tales of the Jedi which is 6 short episodes.

"A great follow-up"? I mean, that's your opinion, but most people hate the Kenobi series, so I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

Sofie, when you say Qui Gon would have been a better master to Anakin versus Obi Wan, that isn't true. Anakin's issue is that he has always allowed his rage and anger to consume him. No amount of training would prevent that from happening... w/o giving anything away, you'll understand this more in the next installment.
And regarding Obi-Wan, he is considered to be one of the greatest Jedi (if not the greatest) amongst Star Wars fans.
I highly recommend you watch the 'Obi Wan Kenobi' series (starring the same actors - Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen) after the next movie. It's a great follow-up to the story of him and Anakin.

I’ve been a diehard prequel fan since the beginning; most girls covered their walls in Leo DiCaprio - mine were covered in Hayden. Gimme all of that sand dialogue. 😂😂 SO excited for Revenge of the Sith! If you loved these first two, just wait. 🖤

I've always enjoyed the prequels, although to me nothing will capture the chemistry and magic of the original trilogy. But no one can say that the prequels aren't visually stunning and beautiful to behold and listen to. A number of fans in the past have complained about the politics, but I think it makes the movies more interesting. One of the things that makes Game of Thrones worth watching/reading over again, or even games like Final Fantasy Tactics, playing through many times, is that the politics are so complex, every time you go through the story again you pick up on something new.
While the dialogue isn't on par with the OT, there are still quite a few memorable lines and exchanges. Personally, I think all of the Lucas-made films are very quotable. Even though I was already a young adult when the prequels came out, over time they've developed their own sense of nostalgia, even if it does pale somewhat in comparison to the original films.
I'm glad you're enjoying these and I'm especially looking forward to your reaction to the third movies. It's the best.

The prequels have a mixed reception I think because episode 1 to some fans feels more like a kids' movie with the focus on young Anakin and this intense hatred a lot of people have for Jar Jar Binks. I don't passionately despise him the way others do, but he is needlessly annoying and seems to be there to appeal to the kid market (I was a kid when this movie came out and I didn't like him then either but maybe I was a weird kid idk lol). I admit it's the one I never rewatch unless I'm watching a reactor go through the series, but Darth Maul is pretty cool and it does do a good job setting the stage for everything to come. Qui Gon is a great character too. Episode 2 a lot of the negativity has to do with Anakin coming across as too whiney and awkward, but as you said, it makes sense that he would be that way. The one thing that always takes me out of the first half a little bit is that I can't quite figure out why Padme is falling for him with how he's acting, but once they're together they're pretty cute, and I do love the ending with them getting secretly married. The whole thing is rather Shakesperean. The settings of their scenes as well as their theme song really creates that atmosphere. I'm not sure if you caught it, but one of my favorite parts of episode 2 is that the Imperial March plays right after Anakin confesses to Padme that he's slaughtered all the Tusken Raiders.
Episode 3 is I think the best received of the prequels, and it's probably my second favorite Star Wars movie after Empire.

Great reaction, i would like to add that Palpatine being the sith lord is obvious to us because you know who he is and what he will do in the future. He has build up a persona for 40 years as Sheev Palpatine the friendly and competent politican. The jedi are blinded by the dark side and he basically groomed Anakin since he joined the order

Yay so glad you like these movies! Seems like especially in the SW fandom there will always be ppl hating on everything new but I've enjoyed everythig that I've seen to some degree at least. Not everything is a masterpiece but I think everything adds to the story as a whole. This was the first SW movie that I saw in the theater! Fun fact: The purple lightsaber was a requirement from Samuel L Jackson.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I have loved the prequels since day one. I just find it funny that because of what Disney has done with Star Wars people now think the prequels are masterpieces.

Sofie, in order to understand why the prequels are hated by many people, you need to know that the original trilogy is literally WORSHIPPED by millions of (often rather toxic) fans, who think these movies are literally flawless and almost sacred. The expectations for the prequels were unrealistically high.
Another reason is the tone shift, especially when it comes to the humour. A lot of the humour in the original trilogy was generally better and more grown-up, especially the banter between Han and Leia. The prequels have a lot of silly humour intended for children, for example most Jar Jar Binks scenes. The people who saw the original trilogy as children were already adults when the new ones came out, so I can kinda understand why they were annoyed by the more childish aspects of the prequels. Another thing that is undeniably weaker in the prequels is the dialogue. George Lucas is a fantastic storyteller, but he isn't very skilled at writing good dialogue. (Especially the Anakin/Padme dialogue is often cringeworthy.) His decision to write the scripts himself was a bit of a mistake, in my opinion.
With all that being said, I still really like the prequels (especially episode 3, you're in for a treat!) and I think they get way too much hate. Also they are far less hated nowadays, for two reasons: 1. The people who saw the prequels as kids are now older and remember them in a nostalgic way. Also a lot of them saw the prequels first, so they didn't have all these huge expectations. 2. The sequel trilogy (episodes 7-9) gets so much hate that by comparison many people now think the prequels are masterpieces. It's all a matter of perspective.
Great reaction, btw, I'm really glad that you like these movies. :-)

So couple of things to confirm without giving away any spoilers
1. Yes it is the same actor who is playing Obi Wan, the beard and mullet haircut really do make a difference haha
2. Dooku was genuinely trying to recruit Obi Wan so he could help him usurp Palpatine as the rule of Sith is that there can only be two.
3. I don't want to spoil the Jango/Boba connection if you are going to continue watching Star Wars shows ( Clones Wars, Rebels, Book of Boba Fett etc.) but son of Jango is Boba Fett, the Bounty Hunter you see in the original trilogy. He uses his armor and ship, I don't believe this is a spoiler since you did hear Jango call him Boba.
4. Lastly, this is just a general comment after not watching this movie in a few years but what was my boy Anakin supposed to do with Padme dressing so seductively in every scene they are in together? haha

You should watch the TV show that got Hayden Christensen the role as Anakin Skywalker, it's called Higher Ground. There's only one season, but it's one of my favorite shows of all time.
