Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith

I love how much you loved these movies. If you are still planning on watching Clone Wars (which I do suggest even though it's long, it's got amazing moments, some great political stuff, and some bad ass characters) I suggest watching in chronological order instead of release order; this seems to have worked well for other content creators I follow. I also highly, HIGHLY, recommend Rebels afterwards. <3 But even if not, thank you for your joy in this series.

Kenobi show next? Only 6 eps and the show comes out 19 years after ep 3. Then rogue one, and then sequel trilogy??

Joshua delrey

time for Rogue One!

Another Great Reaction as always Sofie please React to The Kenobi Series I really believe you will enjoy it

I really liked this reaction Sofie and I hope you revisit the Star Wars galaxy in the future. Though I’m sure there will be much debate on what to watch . Also glad you are watching the LotR trilogy. I hope it’s the extended cuts but both versions are great.

I agree! The Clone Wars is a great show to build upon the characters’ back stories, and she should watch it in her own time, but I think she needs the closure Kenobi gives us to some things. I know I did. 😅

Just wanna say, in regards to the Obi-Wan/affair insinuation, in the novelization of ROTS, there is a scene where Palpatine tells Anakin that it’s been rumored that Obi-Wan has been seen leaving Padme’s apartment (which he was, since he was there that day to talk to her about Anakin), but master manipulator Palps spins in as if she’s having an affair, which then turns into Anakin having internal dialogue about those suspicions during the scene in the movie, “Obi-Wan’s been here, hasn’t he?” *So* glad they didn’t incorporate that into the movie because I hate the whole idea of them having an affair.

Shannon

Oh did she say she was going to react to Lord of The Rings?

I got your Yip Yip reference for Avatar haha

Have loved your journey through this! Highly, highly recommend watching the Kenobi series next 🙌 it's not perfect but given your reaction to the original series and the prequels, I really think you'll love it

Finally! Loved the reaction! Excited for LOTR as well but I hope you go back and watch some SW content outside the main movies! Based on your reactions I think you would really enjoy the Obi-Wan Kenobi series that takes place about 10 years after this movie and has both Ewan McGregor and Hayden back in their roles. It only has 6 episodes. I know you also talked about the Clone wars series, which definitely has some really great moments but it has over 130 episodes so it's inevetably a little more all over the place with several different storylines and characters to follow. The Andor series is also very good, a little different as it focuses more on life under the Empire with basically no force/jedi stuff, just normal people taking up the rebellion. There is one season with 12eps out and the second and final season coming probably during next year. That season is supposed to lead right up to the movie "Rogue One" that takes place just before Ep IV (A New Hope).

Sofie, this is one of the best reactions to this movie I have ever seen. I love how into Anikan you were, I love how much you enjoyed his and Obi Wan's relationship, and I love how emotional you got at the end when Anikan turned to the Dark Side. Perfect reaction in every way. After seeing how much you loved both the fight/battle scenes, and the relationships in this film, I have to recommend a movie for you. You have GOT to watch Independence Day. It's a 90s classic that is so far up your fracking alley it's not even funny. If you do watch ID, though, two pieces of advice. There is a sequel. Don't watch it. it's terrible. And do NOT look the movie up. No trailer, no poster, nothing. It's super fun watching reactors go in completely blind, and, both for you personally, and for the reaction, the more in the dark you are when you watch that movie, the better it will be.

This is still the ONLY movie that I've seen TWICE at the cinema. It was just too great to only watch it once. :-D I can't even describe how happy I am that you're going to watch Lord of the Rings. Although I have to say I'm a bit shocked that you've never seen them before. ;-)

I could talk forever about the tragedy of Anakin. You've got it exactly right that he was a slave his whole life. In truth, he probably shouldn't have been a jedi, he was too old and had already suffered too much to have any real chance of stability in the kind of environment that the jedi must maintain. Some of Anakins biggest problems are with authority, which makes sense. He wildly shifts between being incredibly subservient and doing anything that someone above him tells him to do, which he was obviously conditioned to do at a young age. And then he simultaneously constantly rebels and resists authority. It makes him distressingly easy to manipulate. The thing that always gets me in this movie is that he tries to do the right thing on at least 4 different occasions, but he's just met with resistance every time. The constant mantra of ignore your feelings, don't get attached to people, don't feel fear. Then the next minute it's "Listen to your feelings, you know it to be true." Endlessly tragic. There was a novelisation which had some of Obi Wan's thoughts on Anakin and how he was given an impossible task, and at every turn he was met with distrust and dislike from the council. Any jedi would have fallen in his shoes.

I was really excited for this one and you didn't disappoint. This is my second favorite Star Wars movie even though it's definitely the saddest. Some things I wanted to mention... - When Palpatine wants Anakin to abandon Obi-Wan on the ship in the beginning action sequence, Anakin says his fate will be the same as ours. Vader, Obi-Wan and Palpatine all eventually die on a Death Star. - Some of the language used in Anakin and Obi-Wan's last confrontation is believed to be symbolic of the Iraq War. "If you're not with me, then you're my enemy" is almost exactly what George W. Bush said. And Obi-Wan's response of "only a Sith deals in absolutes" was thought by some to be a shot at that side. I remember seeing FOX News bitch about it around the time the movie came out lol - I think there's an implication that once he has surrendered to the dark side, it consumes him to an extent that he is no longer the same and there's somewhat of a possession there. Even though there's enough of Anakin for him to shed a tear, I have to believe he's been taken over by something beyond him once he gives in. Otherwise it's hard to believe in any type of redemption for him. I think the shot of his eyes glowing after he's executed the separatists kind of backs that up. He looks borderline demonic. - The scene of him drawing his lightsaber on the children was really sad the first time I saw it, but it's just so abruptly and insanely evil and been meme'd so many times that it regrettably makes me laugh every time I see it now. According to Hayden, the origin story behind that is that one day on set he just started wacking the young padawan actors with his prop lightsaber and they decided to make it part of the movie. So that's why Vader is a child murderer, because of some on set goofing around. - Since he has the premonition of Obi-Wan consoling a dying Padme, he always mentions Obi-Wan to her in the tone of a husband suspicious that his wife is having an affair. "Obi-Wan was here wasn't it?" "Because of Obi-Wan?" "You're with him!" etc. I don't think he literally believes that, but the tone behind it is I think figurative of a man whose mind is unraveling with paranoia and suspicion about everything around him that he once trusted. - What a tragic origin to give the Darth Vader Force Choke. One of the coolest villain movies, and we find out the first time he did it was to choke his pregnant wife smh. - It's a small thing, but when he tells R2 to stay with the ship, it's the first time he's treating R2 as a machine/servant rather than a friend. - The man who's briefly seen standing with Palpatine in the last shot of the Empire overlooking the construction of the Death Star was General Tarkin aka the main villain from A New Hope. The actor died in 1994 so they used CGI to bring him back. - I also choose to believe that since we know that Jedi have learned how to communicate with the living in death, that this means there's a general afterlife in the Star Wars universe, and Anakin and Padme are reunited in it after RotJ. I think you'll really like the Force Awakens if that's next on your Star Wars viewing.

Amazing reaction, you pick up on so many things, I'm always impressed that you've made connections and understood the meaning so often. I love the respect you're putting on Hayden Christensen, his performance was mocked a lot when the movie first came out, it's only in recent years that people are recognising how good he was, especially with such a challenging story to portray. I was right there with you crying for over half the movie, something about it really just destroys you more than anything else. Wookies are a different species than Ewoks, although given the name and the appearance, they're probably related. Excited for Lord of the rings and whatever else you have planned for the future!

Jennifer Lawson

Great reaction. Excited for your Lord of the Rings reactions!
