In Helaena's chamber you can see her scribblings on the wall and papers. It shows a beheaded wolf (probably Robb at Red Wedding), a boar and funeral for a child. Also a naked woman standing in fire (probably Daenerys bringing back dragons or killing Dothraki khals). A stag with crown (probably Robert or Baratheons becoming king). She lives through nightmarish prophecies of death constantly. This is her life. And final realization when the nightmare becomes reality.

Alicent living in Rhaenyra's old room sleeping with Rhaenyra's old one night stand😂

In Driftmark when Aemond lost an eye, Criston had the watch that night. But he missed these kids being out of bed. Where was he? With the Queen? And in episode 9, Alicent saying to him, "all the feelings you have for me" makes me suspect that Ali-ston has been going on for a while. "Honour and decency shall prevail" 😂 All I remember at this moment is what Rhaenyra said: "Exhausting wasn't it? Hiding beneath the cloak of your own righteousness. But now they see you as you are"

sofie if you don't want to confuse yourself just forget about GOT last seasons when you are watching the HOTD

in the show they make Helaena to tell them which one is boy but in the book she has two sons and these two just for the fun of it ask her to choose between the two boys and when she chooses the younger one they immediately ignore her and kill the other and make her watch as the take her sons head

Yeah I hoped they'd not go full on like the books, cause I think would turn a lot of people off, but I think some of the most impactful psychological elements of it could have been kept without being too gruesome, so was a bit let down with how it was changed.

A horrific murder of an innocent child, but the way the show writers went about it is pretty "PG-13" compared to the book. I guess it would be way too traumatic for most viewers sticking to the original story

"What? Then how come Dany's dragons crossed it?" - same reason for a lot of things in GoT final two seasons, once George stopped having a hand in the show D&D weren't as careful with following the established lore since it clearly didn't matter or was inconvenient for their plans for the show ending. Showrunner of House of the Dragon is a real book nerd so its a lot more faithful to the book lore, of which that is a thing.
